I went camping two weeks ago (12Nov2020-15Nov2020) and this bag was AMAZING! I was in the mountains, so it got down into the 40s. I was so warm, I ended up uncovering my torso! My boyfriend was zipped up tight in his sleeping (not the same as this, not sure what he has). 11 out of 10 stars! Woukd definitely recommend!

Great for drive in camping or overlanding. First night was in the mid 30s and second night dropped into the 20s with wind, low humidity both nights. I stayed comfortable all night long and on the first night I had to unzip the bottom to get a little ventilation. My last bag I usually had to pump some heat in the tent with a propane heater, but with this bag I only fired it up for getting dressed in the morning. Long was a good fit for 6'2" 220lb male.

Way too big
Ordered one simply because of the price yet way too big even for trips where I am just 1/2 mile from the car even car camping takes up too much space in the car haven't used it yet and have no interest in lugging it around next trip is in mid November will be sticking with my current bag not this one

Good for cold nights and car camping
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
This is a wonderfully thick, comfortable sleeping bag. I used it several times and found it too warm in the summer, but its thickness was a great cushion for sleeping on top of! In the cold, the heat retention was good, and I was very comfortable sleeping in Michigan's upper peninsula in the fall, with temperatures in the 30s. However, this is not a great backpacking sleeping bag. It is heavy and large, even in a compression sak, which is not pleasant to lug around on the trail. If you're looking for a backpacking sleeping bag, get something more compressible and lighter weight. Otherwise, for car camping, this is a good choice.

Not How I Envisioned my Banff Trip.
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I was so excited to get this bag before my trip to Banff National Park. I was watching posts online that it was still snowing, days before my trip. The lows at night were to get 40 degrees but not lower than about 38. The first night, on our Klymit thermal double sleep pad, I decided to go without pants and a shirt, overjoyed that I would be toasty warm all night. Not more than an hour later, I quickly uncinched the hood of the bag, unzipped myself and threw on some wool socks and thermal underwear and jumped back into my bag. No, this did not help. Do you know how hard it is to curl up into a ball in a MUMMY Bag?? So I did that, the rest of the night. It was terrible. It took hours to get the feeling back in my feet in the morning. The next night we were headed to higher elevation. I thought to myself, I WILL NOT sleep cold tonight! So I put two layers of wool socks on, thick thermal underwear, a pair of sweatpants, thermal underwear top on, my Patagonia thick fleece, a winter beanie, dragged my fleece blanket inside and threw 5 large Hot Hands into my bag. One hot hands up my back, another in my fleece sweater front pocket, two at my feet and another floating around freely. I also put an Indian blanket between our pad and my bag. Then I zipped, Velro'd, and cinched my bag up. STILL FROZE. This bag was a waste of money and I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND.

Great price

This is a great bag for its warmth and price! But that being said it is not something to go on a long trrek with. Its far too big for any bag. However it is the PERFECT glamping bag. If your going to be setting camps up close to the car or truck this is perfect.

great sleeping bag for few money
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
It is a great sleeping bag if you have space/volumen on your trip of if you purchase too the compressor (https://www.backcountry.com/alps-mountaineering-compression-sack#wall-solicitations). If we have in mind the isolation that you will have you will not pass cold nights with it. The price is awesome but as I said, it depends on your needs. I recommend using for activities that don't require small articles or heavy ones.

Huge
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I ordered 2 of these in wide as hubby and I are not small active people (over 250lb) and dimensions online weren't perfectly clear. These are huge as other reviews have stated, we didnt need the wide size either. Plenty of room to roll over and stomach or side sleep. They'll be perfect for emergency car bags as they are really warm especially at this price point, but we'll keep looking for a lighter weight and smaller footprint backpacking bag. You might be able to get it in a smaller stuff sack but the storage bag it comes in doesnt compress it at all. Pictured beside TNF 65L backpack for reference.

Lots of bag for little money
- Familiarity:
- I've used it several times
Let me start out right off the bat saying this is not for backpacking as it is large and heavy . However this thing absolutely shines in a winter car camping scenario. I've used it to the mid upper teens and was very comfortable

Comfy

Used this sleeping bag on a 4 night trip in the desert and I was very happy with it. The temps were just barely dipping below 40 at night, and I was never cold. I only wore 1 layer on the bottom and two light layers on top and was comfortably warm. The long version fit me at 6' 4" 185 lbs.

Comfy and warm
Got this one because of the larger size, I didnât want a tight sleeping bag for âdrive and dropâ. This bag is big enough for me to sleep with my wife comfortably! Even sleeping alone the bag has plenty of space and is quite warm. A worthwhile bag.

Car Camping surprising huge bag
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
Ok, continuing on the prior evaluation. It still is big no question, but with my Alps sleeping pad, oh what a confortable sleep one is in. Still keep in mind that this thing is huge ... really huge. Choose wisely other option if one needs a backpack bag as this would fill half of my Osprey Xenith 105...

Ouf way too big
- Familiarity:
- I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
Unless you have a minivan to fit it in, this bag is car camping only. Impossible to compress at all. But looks comfy for sure. The bag you kept at home for power outage but that one DO NOT BUY for any camping at all. As an example this fills my Osprey Xenith 105 ( yes 105 liters ) amost completely. But once you are fully aware of its limitation, an overall comfy bag no question here

To the Bag
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I used this bag during a trip to Steamboat Springs, CO. There was a natural gas heater in the cabin, but I didn't need it. The bag is warm, roomy, and comfortable. It wasn't too difficult to put the bag back in the stuff sack. Just roll it up tight and work it until it's securely inside. Nice bag for the money. I'm 6' 2" tall and weight 230 lbs. with 48" XL coat size and 38" waist. I had plenty of room and slept well.

What is the stuff size for this bag? Deciding between this and the Kelty 20 Synthetic but I would rather have something that packs up a little tighter for hike-in fishing trips. The Kelty is 9x15. What is this stuff/pack size?

http://www.alpsmountaineering.com/alps/products/bags/mummy-bags/crescent-lake For stuff sack dimensions, click on the link under Specs. I imagine with enough work, you can stuff it into whichever compression bag you have/want to buy.

I'm going on a horse pack trip the end of June in Montana. The guide recommends a 0 degree bag. I'm thinking synthetic to save money. Is this or the Kelty a better choice?

I have this bag. I'm 5'9" and flux between 175/180lbs. But this bag is prefect. Plenty of room and super warm. If I lay on my side even my dog. A 60lb american pitbull can curl up and fit in lol. down side is even with a compression sack is big. need bigger ruck/backpack thats all I guess.

The regular size is too short for me or my son - both around 6'. I'm heavier (220lb) and feel claustrophobic. My son is 180 and likes the width. We are giving the regular to my daughter and buying two larger sized bags. Also, the zipper is tempermental immediately and may be a problem.
