Beat the cold and the system.

It gets cold at night. Don't be caught underestimating this basic principle the next time you go camping; bring the warm bag. The Alps Mountaineering Crescent Lake 0 Degree Sleeping Bag can hang with the big boys in just about every area except for price. Techloft+ insulation is lightweight, extremely packable, and unlike goose down, retains over 70% of its insulating capabilities when wet.

    Comfy and warm

Got this one because of the larger size, I didn’t want a tight sleeping bag for “drive and drop”. This bag is big enough for me to sleep with my wife comfortably! Even sleeping alone the bag has plenty of space and is quite warm. A worthwhile bag.

      Car Camping surprising huge bag

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Ok, continuing on the prior evaluation. It still is big no question, but with my Alps sleeping pad, oh what a confortable sleep one is in. Still keep in mind that this thing is huge ... really huge. Choose wisely other option if one needs a backpack bag as this would fill half of my Osprey Xenith 105...

      Ouf way too big

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Unless you have a minivan to fit it in, this bag is car camping only. Impossible to compress at all. But looks comfy for sure. The bag you kept at home for power outage but that one DO NOT BUY for any camping at all. As an example this fills my Osprey Xenith 105 ( yes 105 liters ) amost completely. But once you are fully aware of its limitation, an overall comfy bag no question here

      To the Bag

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I used this bag during a trip to Steamboat Springs, CO. There was a natural gas heater in the cabin, but I didn't need it. The bag is warm, roomy, and comfortable. It wasn't too difficult to put the bag back in the stuff sack. Just roll it up tight and work it until it's securely inside. Nice bag for the money. I'm 6' 2" tall and weight 230 lbs. with 48" XL coat size and 38" waist. I had plenty of room and slept well.

Very warm, works even when wet!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Yet to see anything wrong with this bag, we had dense condensation seep through our tent walls on a cold fall night and i was warm and cozy for a good nights sleep.

      Perfect first sleeping bag

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Got this bag for my nephew for his club scout camping trips. This isn't the lightest sleeping back so not for backpacking but perfect for the beginner camper and car campers. Warm and soft.

Extremely Warm & lightweight but bulky

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This sleeping bag is very warm. Great for car camping during the colder months. The bag is lighter than most its size but it very bulky and would only recommend it for car camping, not backpacking. I'm 6'1" and fit in the regular no problem.

      Probably my least favorite bag

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

      Pros: very warm, affordable

Cons: bulky, heavy, and difficult to store.

I had a tough time with the zipper (may be just my specific bag) getting caught on the lining- one of my biggest pet peeves, especially when trying to pack up in a hurry. Fitting this into the sack provided was a nightmare.

Warm bag, nice value for the $$

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Yes, I know, this is a large bag but I am using it for car camping. I am 5'11" and I fit just right in a regular. I like this bag. I am sure it will be warm at the colder temps.

      Great for cold camping

      • Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share

Bought this for my dad before the deer hunt and he stayed warmer than me. Has a chest and zipper baffle, roomy and stayed warm, just wish the inside was cotton for that soft feel.

      Car camping winner

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

For what you get, this bag is great. Extremely comfortable and super warm. Since it is a 0 degree poly-fill it isn't the smallest packing bag but that was to be expected. This is a great car camping bag.

      I hate the zipper.

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I'm only giving this 4 stars because the zipper is a pain. Otherwise, I love it. I have the regular and it fits me and my 27 pound dog very well. It can get a little on the warm side when you have a little space heater cuddling with you.

      Amazing for cold car campers

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Very heazy and bulk but so comfy and warm. I would definitely not use this for backpacking since it is so large and heavy but it is perfect for car camping. Very warm and soft and seems to be constructed well.

      Chronically cold car campers, rejoice!

This thing is huge, heavy, and not very compressible. But you don't care. You're sick of spending winter nights on ski road trips shivering away in the back of your truck... Or if you're a chronically cold sleeper like me, spending even 20-30 degree fall and spring nights shivering away in a 15 degree down bag. No shame.

Look, I love minimalist backpacking ideology as much as the next ounce-counter... But if you've got a trunk or a roof box to store this synthetic snuggle sack in, you might as well never have to sleep cold while car camping again. Plus, at the price, how can you resist?

PS.... The wide version can fit two, if you're feelin' REAL cozy and don't care much about a personal space bubble.

        Unanswered Question

Hi. I am 6 feet (maybe 1/2 inch taller) the specs say the regular fits up to 80" i know i should fit in the regular but im so used to buying longs i want to make sure i will actually fit in the regular?

hey, is this bag rated 0 degrees Farenheit?

Anyone know the dimensions for the Long vs Reg vs Wide?

For stuff sack dimensions, click on the link under Specs. I imagine with enough work, you can stuff it into whichever compression bag you have/want to buy.

I'm going on a horse pack trip the end of June in Montana. The guide recommends a 0 degree bag. I'm thinking synthetic to save money. Is this or the Kelty a better choice?

I have this bag. I'm 5'9" and flux between 175/180lbs. But this bag is prefect. Plenty of room and super warm. If I lay on my side even my dog. A 60lb american pitbull can curl up and fit in lol. down side is even with a compression sack is big. need bigger ruck/backpack thats all I guess.

The regular size is too short for me or my son - both around 6'. I'm heavier (220lb) and feel claustrophobic. My son is 180 and likes the width. We are giving the regular to my daughter and buying two larger sized bags. Also, the zipper is tempermental immediately and may be a problem.

Does this bag have a full length zipper?
