    Blue Springs Sleeping Bag

Forget about dropping half your paycheck on a sleeping bag. The ALPS Mountaineering 35-Degree Blue Springs Sleeping Bag is a true 3-season bag with offset baffles, double-sided closure, and an included compression sack. The tough nylon shell resists abrasion while the soft polyester lining wicks moisture to keep you dry and comfortable throughout the night. The synthetic insulation features a siliconized finish, enhancing its ability to maintain loft when exposed to moisture. Best of all, the Blue Springs won't gobble your food budget for the week, so you can stay out of the ramen noodle aisle and head straight for the steaks.

    • 35-degree bag appropriate for mid-spring to mid-fall camping
    • 2-layer offset baffles eliminate cold spots
    • Synthetic insulation retains insulating properties when wet
    • Mummy shape insulates more efficiently and packs small
    • Structured, insulated hood stands up on its own
    • Hook-and-loop tab prevents involuntary unzipping
    • Full-length zip on one side, half-length zip on the other
    • Item #ALM3096

    Great value-compact for synthetic.

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Great value-compact for synthetic. Compacts very well and has great detail for the price. Zippers work well and extend well down the bag and fabric liner is very soft and comfortable. Rating is appropriate for the bag.

    Good value

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Overall, nice value. It doesn't ooze quality and won't impress gear nerds, but it is built pretty well and gets the job done for an affordable sleeping bag.
I've used it over the past few years to camp in the summer and fall. For the money, it's rather nice and the temperature rating is about right. The fabric seems durable enough and I haven't had issues with the zippers. The compression bag is good, gets it to a nice compact size to fit in a backpack.

    Excellent Value!

This bag is a great option for someone looking for a great price on a summer backpacking or car camping bag. A little heavy for a 35 degree bag, but for the price its honestly as good as it gets. The bag packs down surprisingly small as well.

      Surprising bag

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used this bag a few times in the warmer weather and I have been impressed with it. I have always been mainly sold on a down bag but this synthetic has worked great. I packs down pretty small for a synthetic and it has kept me warm in the earlier summer camping. If you are looking for a great warmer summer bag check this one out for sure. I have the regular size and at 2lb 11oz weight its an easy option for most camping needs!

      Love This Sleeping Bag

I was looking for a quality sleeping bag that could handle spring /early summer camping that didn't break the piggy bank and was also light to carry. This bag fits all my needs and expectations and I'm thoroughly impressed with it.

        Great Sleeping Bag!

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a great bag, especially for the price. I have only taken it down to about 50 degrees but I slept great in it. It is also pretty small and makes for a great sleeping bag for backpacking.

        Unbelievable quality & performance

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Unbelievable quality & performance for price. This is a surprisingly great bag for the price. It has so many of the great qualities of a really good bag without the price. Liner fabric is comfortable, zippers and baffles work well. Just know what temperature is right for you. This is a warmer weather bag.

        Works in West Texas

Took my son camping with a boys club. 45 degree nights with light rain on a windy hilltop. Slept comfortably in short & shorts. Tapered foot box makes it semi- mummy feeling even for a slender guy. Heavy duty zippers. Stuff sack with grab handle shrink this to backpacking size. Nice product for economic price point.

          Great Value Sleeping Bag

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This has got to be one of the best bags at this price point. It is pretty light for its warmth rating and packs down pretty small too. The craftsmanship seems to be very good so far.

          A nice affordable option

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got a little chilly wearing jeans and a sweatshirt at 30F without the bag cinched down tight. So it seems to be rated well. I'm 5'8" and ~150lbs and the regular size fit well. For the price and size it packs down to though, can't go wrong.

          Pretty good bag

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I got this cuz it was cheap. I'm impressed. It compresses very small and is pretty light weight. Certainly worth the $$. I'm not a cold sleeper so it will work perfectly even in cold weather.

Better than i thought for a cheap bag

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I needed a cheap bag for a tropical missions trip coming up, instead of my Big Agnes 15 degree bag. Couldn't beat the sale price of this bag even compared to other 40-50 degree bags! When I opened the bag for the first time, I was surprised #1 how small it packed for synthetic (nice cinch stuff sack too) and #2 the little extra touches - like a quarter zip on the non-zipper side to be more comfortable in warmer weather, as well as a nice hood. Glad BC had these on sale - exactly what I needed, and I think I will be happy with the performance as well.

          Warm in the bwcaw.

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

It was a little warm outside and the bag stayed unzipped about half the week long trip into the boundary waters. The other half it cooled off and even lightly snowed and this bag kept me perfect. I sleep a touch warm or so my wife says.

          Great start to the summer!

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased this mid-winter. So I'm now just being able to test it out. I've used it in the Hyalite area and the Bridger Range of southwestern Montana. One of the nights it was quite chilly; below 20F so it was definitely beyond it's limit, but the nights in the Bridgers it worked like a champ; it was about 33F. It packs down to a reasonable size as well. No complaints and I would recommend to a friend.

          Siurana worthy

I took this on a climbing trip in siurana, spain and it was perfect. The nights got down to low-mid forties at night and I was warm the whole time with just pants and a tshirt on underneath. I'm 6'0" and 155lbs, the long is a good length for me. There's a little extra feet room and some head room and room around the shoulders. It packs down to a reasonable size, easily fit in my suitcase.

            Siurana worthy

            Great weekend

            • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Took this baby out to the Coal Pits in Zion. early may. it packed up small and we carried more than we needed for the weekend :) super comfy bag. i love the double zipper feature. zipper moved great, no snags and i was able to cross my leg because of the great width of this bag

Ole Cliche: It Is What It Is.

            • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

It's a great bag for mild nights. I've used this several nights on the Appalachian Trail and on the Linville Gorge Loop. It kept me warm when needed. I would recommend it for weekend hikes and/or if you're pack is at least 44 Liters or more. Depending on the compression bag, it will compress down to a size slightly larger than a football or a bowling ball. My bag is a long, so smaller sizes will compress much better. It's a good quality bag, the only issues I have is that the zipper sometimes snags and I wouldn't use it for long distance hiking. That being said, I still use this regularly and the price is unbelievable!

Does anyone know how many liters the stuff sack is?

Hey Jeremiah, the stuff sack is about 11 liters. If you have any other questions or need assistants with an existing order or placing an order, please feel free to contact us on Chat or call us at 1-800-409-4502. Thanks!

Is this bag really only 21 oz? What are the dimensions when stuffed?

            Hi Sheila,

Sorry to burst your bubble. I was curious because 21 oz is the weight of many high end down bags. It looks like an error on BC's part. I just checked the Alps website and its 21 oz fill weight meaning the amount of insulation in the bag. The actual weight itself is 2 lbs 11 oz.. There is no information on the stuffed dimensions that I could find. But the post below had the same question and Wayne said that the stuff sack dimensions are 17.3 x 7 inches. Hope this helps.

Can you zip 2 of these bags together?

Can you zip 2 of these bags together?

            Unfortunately, no.

Mummy bags are designed to be more form fitting than a "square" bag. They typically only have a 3/4 length zip on one side.

Look at standard rectangular/square bags for ones that can zip together.
