It's OK

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Backpacking in the summer, this bag works really well. I have the ALPS Mountaineering 20 degree synthetic from a few years ago, mine is orange.
Camping in 35 degree weather, I was freezing!
I'm new to backpacking, so my pack is usually pretty heavy, the weight really doesn't bother me, but it the sleeping bag definitely takes a lot of space. I was hoping to get an extra compression sack that could take this thing down a notch or two. Again, well priced and works OK! I'll use it for the rest of this season, and look into something lighter and warmer next spring.

Performs Well

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As people have said, the zipper is finicky. Otherwise, it's a great car camping bag. Not the lightest or most packable, but it'll keep you warm at night at a low cost.

Good bag

  • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have used this sleeping bag several times and it is a good bag. I read from other reviews that the zipper is temperamental, I agree. It seems to get caught all the time. Other than that, it is light and is an overall good bag.

Think again

Although the bag sound appealing at only 3 and a half pounds be prepared for it to take up most of your backpack. This bag is bulky with a temperamental zipper. I took it on two trips and spent an hour on the second trip trying to get it zipped up again. For the price I would spend a little more and get a nicer bag.
