    Don't bang up your 'bows.

Crashes can give you serious stingers, nasty scrapes, or worse, so wearing Alpinestars' A-Line 2 Elbow Guards when you're getting rowdy is never a bad idea. Anatomically constructed bio-foam and hard polymer padding protect your 'bows from impacts and abrasions, while the flexible mesh and neoprene sleeves fit comfortably and won't slide around. A hook-and-loop strap and internal silicone print provide extra security, and an articulated fit keeps you riding comfortably without cramping your style or interrupting your flow.

    Painfully stiff foam.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The "anatomically constructed bio-foam" at the elbows is really hard and hits the boney parts during normal wear. No one's elbow anatomy is shaped like this. Other elbow pads I've owned, mostly hockey elbow pads, have relief for the boney part of your elbow and carries the load on the areas with some muscle. I'll probably modify these to have elbow relief like that if I keep using them.

Also of note, Alpinestars says right in the manual that these are for motorcycle use only and don't guarantee protection for any other activity. Also, the manual says don't submerge these in water, so my intended use (and Devin's) is definitely outside of the scope of intended use.

I would have returned these, but it's hardly worth the effort when I bought them for 22 bones. Can't recommend, even at $22.

These bad boys go sweet with the rest of my paddle gear. I also got the matching pair of knee/shin guards. I'm really happy with them, they stay on really well and they look badass!
