Least favorite of the 5 meals we packed
Fortunately we had an extra day's dinner with us. Does not come close to Black Bart or Thai chicken.
Taste Good
Taste Good and good for backpacking.
Not bad
- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I usually go with mountain house but decided to give this a try. Was pretty good I enjoyed it for a camping meal but I agree with the other post that sometimes the more basic meals are better.
blow your mind.. then eat the food
Just eat it.. you're in the mountains.
Not my favorite
I tried to eat this, I really tried. I did an overnight and had over packed on food so I was good to just pass on it after a few bites. I even tried it again after a few cocktails later in the night and found it the same...not very good. I have found the basic meals like chicken and rice, noodles and chicken and chicken in mashed potatoes are the best.
No Bueno

I'm not sure if this consistently didn't cook properly or if these flavors should just never be mixed together in the first place. This was the camp's least favorite. 2-stars cuz it still filled me up!
Good camp food

Disclaimer: all my food reviews will be after I've been out in the middle of nowhere for a few days, mostly eating bars, so anything hot is going to be the best meal of my life.
I'd recommend letting it sit with hot water for an extra 5 minutes at least to make sure everything gets cooked.
Definitely Tasty

While not a gourmet meal, it's actually pretty good for a dehydrated meal. A few pro tips:
Make sure you water is *HOT*.
Wait a little bit longer, like Rachel suggested
After the meal is done cooking, cut the top of the bag off and you can eat directly from the pouch without having to dig to the bottom
Food was slightly over-seasoned, but better to be over seasoned than bland.
Tasty!

This was my first experience with AlpineAire and I loved it. Although I found that the wait time took quite a bit longer than the packaging indicates, this meal was very good once done. Also, prep and clean up was a breeze. I would highly recommend this meal.
Enjoyable!

So this was my first experience with AlpineAire, saw an entree on sale and thought I'd give it a try. I was intrigued by the variety of meals that AlpineAire features. To echo another review I would agree in saying add slightly less water than the package advises. While speaking of the package itself the bag folds over itself in a way Mountain house or backpackers pantry would be unable to do, this makes them especially packable. The edge of the package is graduated in centimeter increments which can facilitate measuring liquids. Very simple preparation process, and something I'd certainly tray again in the future, looking forward to trying the other offerings by AlpineAire.
Good food, easy to prepare.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
I liked this food a lot, got it for the first time. I used a bit less water on my second packet as the first one came out a bit runny when using the recommended water line. Yummy, filling, and was ready quickly will buy it again.
