    Get your fix before sunrise.

You'll fall asleep waiting to brew a legit cup of coffee during alpine starts, so boil some water while packing all your climbing gear, and then slip one packet from Alpine Start's 8-Pack Original Blend into your mug for an instant, necessary caffeine fix. A combination of arabica beans and Alpine Start's proprietary brewing process makes sure these packets dissolve instantly in either hot or cold water, so you can just skip the boiling if you're okay with cold coffee. There's a hint of dark chocolate for an even better taste.

    I'm Hooked!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

Alpine Start Instant Coffee is like real cup of coffee. Full body taste, easy to make and taste delicious hot or cold. I use this as my afternoon pickup instead of making a full french press, always have one in my purse, gym bag and travel luggage. I get excited when I make one as my afternoon treat!

    My All-Time Favorite Instant Coffee

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Alpine Start doesn't mess around when it comes to coffee. Its minimizes messes, AND you can drink it both hot or cold. In desperate situations, you may even be convinced its not instant coffee...

quick, easy, and simply tastes good

The name is absolutely fitting. I definitely don't have time to aeropress freshly grinded whole beans before trying to get out the door at 0300 for a big day, but coffee does make the morning drive super nice. Alpine Start encompasses all that is simple with being easy to make with hot water and tastes better than almost all other brands I've tried in the past. The coffee is good for the early outdoorsman, the rushed worker, or even the lazy coffee maker.

For Climbers (or anyone) by Climbers

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I started climbing without coffee, stoked only by the mountains, simply because I had no time at 0200 to make a cup of coffee or desire to strain it with my teeth. Now after a quick jet boil, I have a moment to savor. Having the capability to make a hot coffee provides warmth and a moment of peace before the struggle. I don't go without my alpine start!

This coffee tastes better than Starbucks Via (the only instant alternative I have seen out there) and supports climbing and the environment we all love. It is so wonderful to have a supreior product that also stands for the deep values of our community. Rock on Alpine Start!

The Best Instant I have ever had!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Alpine Start helps with those early mornings, because it's so easy and tastes great! I love my french press in the morning but sometimes it just takes too much time. I love that you can use Alpine Start with hot and cold water! This is really a must try!

      Pretty Cool, Pretty Easy

This stuff is awesome because it's super quick and easy. All you have to do is add hot or cold water and WEE you have a cup of coffee. Also, very easy and light to pack. It's not the best coffee I've ever had, but it's really not bad and does the trick. I use this for climbing trips because it's so simple.

        Does the trick.

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I don't know about you, but I can never get camp coffee to taste quite right... but these packets managed to make a decent cup of coffee while minimizing prep and clean up.

A Day Without Coffee Is Like...

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have no clue. If you're like me, coffee is the first thought that comes to mind when you wake up. There's nothing better than stepping out of your tent into the morning dew and enjoying a hot cup of joe.

These packets are super quick and easy when you're on the trail or just need a quick pick-me up. (not to mention lightweight/packable). I drink my coffee black, so enjoy a nice blend to say the least. I found the Alpine Start to be a well-balanced, medium roast style flavor. Definitely on par with the Starbucks packets I've used in the past, if not better. Pretty awesome that you can whip up a cold brew as well with these. Can't say that I have yet, I'm hot coffee all they way.

Anyways, I digress... they're worth a go. I'll definitely be a repeat customer.

        Quick and easy!

        • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Lets be honest here, instant coffee is never great. At it's best, its just okay. But when you've out in the the backcountry or bivvying up on a wall, having any kind of coffee can be an absolute blessing. I've always opted for Starbucks Via packets, but I think these are just a little bit better. They're still not great or even very good, but they do the job pretty well when you're need in of a little morning pick-me-up. Try them out, they're worth a shot!

        I like Via more

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got this in hopes of convincing my boyfriend instant coffee could be a good option for backpacking, and ended up convincing myself that it's worth it to carry actual coffee. Maybe I went into it with too high of expectations (my friends told me I need to think of it as coffee Kool-Aid, not actual coffee), but I definitely won't be using it again.

        Surprisingly pretty good

        • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Just tried this stuff out on a recent camp trip and I was pleasantly surprised. The packets don't take up much space, coffee mixes pretty easily (I used cold water), and actually tastes pretty good for instant. Great for a quick pick-me-up before hitting them trails.

        Better than 'bucks

        • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I love these things for light weight camping missions where a pour over is just to much weight and space in my pack. For years I used starbucks instant coffee, and suffered through it for the coffee buzz (pure addict status) but with Alpine Start I can actually have a legit cup o joe in the mountains or desert. Additionally this company is owned and run by a few climbers from Boulder, and I love supporting independently owned companies run by real people not a CEO answering to the board.
