    Don't reach for your drink.

Whether you're unfurling it near a river, campfire, or the stage at an outdoor concert, the Alite Stonefly Armchair will suit you well. Or, more accurately, seat you well. Unlike some chairs that treat their sitters despicably, forcing them to put their beverages on the ground, the Stonefly provides two cupholders for proper beverage enjoyment. Mesh pockets extend upward from the cupholder, giving you a place for your sunglasses, sunscreen, or other necessities. A loop allows you to attach your keys, bottle opener, or other small tool, ensuring that you can find it when you need it.

    • Chair for chilling at a concert or campsite

    • Cupholders keep your beverage within reach
    • Extended mesh pockets hold small items
    • Loop secures your keys or bottle opener
    • Collapsible for easy transport

    Good Base Camper

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I have one of these in both the tall model and the shorter version. Both are comfortable, but this model is easier to get in and out of. I would recommend it mostly for car camping and around your base camp as it is not as light weight or packable as other versions of the alite chair. However, for these purposes it works great. I love the cupholders and cool new patterns. The one caveat is for first time users it can be tricky to put to together. Once you have done it a few times, however, it is quite easy and even has color coded tabs for where the chair fabric and frame connect. Overall a very good camp chair for around the house, car, or basecamp.

Chairitible donation to our gear closet

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Demoed this chair from our Backcountry Gear Closet and loved it! I have nothing to complain about as it was easy to pack, transport, and use.

    Disappointing

Positive: it's comfortable & sturdy once it's all set up. Superficially, I liked the cute pattern of the chair. The cup holders were also very handy.

Negative: it was very heavy for a "backpacking" chair. It wasn't horribly intuitive to set up - the "instructions" on the bag were NOT helpful. The connecting poles also got stuck together - several friends tried to pry them apart and eventually I had to use bike lube to get them unstuck. It would be fairly easy to lose a pole - making the chair useless (3 of the poles are 100% loose and twice fell out of the bag while I was packing up). It didn't fold up easily and I struggled to quickly fit the rolled up chair into its bag.

I wanted to like this chair, I really did. Unfortunately, it caused too much frustration for me to recommend it.

      Quick, easy, sturdy

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

      Things we liked!
-Sturdy, probably the most sturdy camping chair I've used
      -Dug the dots design
      -packs down small

      Things we didn't
      -expensive for what it is
      -heavy for a backpacking chair
      - The diagrams on the side of the bag are no helpful for set up but we got it pretty quick

Nice, but not for the bigger person.

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This is a very nice, compact chair. It would do nicely for most folks. However, after receiving it, I realized that while rated for 330 lbs. it is too small for my 6'3", 275 lb. frame. No way to really get comfortable. Sits very low to the ground. Can't really justify spending the money if I end up sitting on a log or whatever. Bummer! Very light.

      Stellar Chair

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

This chair was so easy to use and pack around! If you need a chair for outdoor concerts or sporting events, this chair is killer! The pole system is super easy to set up and packs down pretty small!

      pretty convenient chair

      • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Compact chair, easy to set up, and pretty comfortable. Is a little tippy if you're not careful. I didn't fall over ever but definitely wobbled a time or two.
