R 156 Series Raft

Whether you have it rigged with a frame and gear during a once-in-a-lifetime float down the Grand Canyon or are using it as a paddle boat during a day trip at your local river, the Aire R 156 Series Raft will get the job done. It's a real all-rounder, with a multi-purpose design, large tube diameters for killer buoyancy, and solid construction that won't shrink away from run-ins with rocks or rough-and-tumble journeys. Aire built the R 156 in Idaho with its proven construction, which utilizes a welded urethane air bladder that's protected by a 1670D PVC cover for added durability and increased longevity, so you can spend as much time on the water as you do on dry land.

The 156 R sits in the middle of Aire's R Series, which makes it one of the most versatile boats in the series. It checks in at just under 16 feet long and with an interior width of about 3.5 feet, strikin a balance between big and stable and quick and maneuverable. Aire designed the 156 R to be rigged with a frame (minimum width 66in) and made sure it will fit up to four thwarts when set up as a paddle boat. To ensure serious flotation, the 156 R is set up with five air chambers and Aire's Regular Floor Pocket (RFP) construction, which work together to help keep the boat rigid, buoyant, and well-ballasted. The improved ballast not only aids in tracking, but also helps the boat stick to the water to make sure you don't end up flipping in bigger rapids. Another nice feature of the 156 R is it's extra space, which lets you squeeze in an extra paddler or two even when you're loaded down with gear.
