    Perfect Emergency Kit

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I keep this in my car at all times and though I've yet to use it (thankfully), I'm really impressed with it. A lot of people have an aversion to buying pre-made first aid kits because they usually have too much of some things and not enough of others, but I think this kit is a fantastic baseline to start from. You can always add little things here and there to ensure you have everything you need for wherever you're going.

Regarding the size, it's compact enough to keep in my glove compartment with plenty of room to spare. I'll probably end up taking a few things out and making my own mini kit for short backpacking trips, but it's lightweight enough that I'll probably just bring the whole thing with me on longer trips. It's going to be perfect for river trips, too.

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I got this to have on-hand for car camping trips with my toddler. Haven't needed it yet, but seems to have most of the important things we'd want!

    Launch Point

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

A good start but, as with most kits, would need some beefing up to be a more well rounded kit. The internal access zippers also make it awkward to remove and replace items.

For the price, it is a really solid way to start your medical pack! It has a lot of random little things you'll find will come in handy for minor injuries and gear repairs, there are a few things it leaves out like splints etc. but this is a great way to go and is a lot easier than putting it all together on your own.

      What you need

I haven't had to use this yet luckily but for the price and size, it provides a lot of peace of mind. Doesn't take up much room in my pack and like the description says, I feel ready for the apocalypse.

        Taken Everywhere

Perfect little first aid survival kit.
I take this bad boy everywhere, whether car camping or backpacking, its never left out of a trip.
The most used features have been the ibuprofen , allergy medicine, headlamp and nylon cords.
I did get to test out the bandages when a friend stepped on some glass.

It could be a little lighter for backpackers worried about weight, that could also be done by removing un-needed items.

          Perfect Size!

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

Everything you need in your ski pack and it fits nicely in my 22L pack!

Sidecountry, backcountry or even inbounds-- it doesn't take up too much space in my pack and weights next to nothing for the value it packs!

          Everything but the kitchen sink

          • Familiarity: I've used it several times

Almost everything a person would need is in this kit. It's a solid small first aid kit. Not a trauma kit, but it has evening to take care of general first aid in the trail. In addition to that it has some general purpose survival equipment. Within it is a survival mirror, whistle, small headlamp, fire starting equipment, string, and many more small item to get you out of an uncomfortable situation. If course there are a few things missing like a good pocket Knife. However, this is a great start to a first aid / survival kit.

          Survival at its Best

          • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

A small, compact, lightweight kit that tucks away nicely into any size pack and give you the peace of mind that you have a back-up. The instruments are crucial when you are trying to move fast and light. Well worth the investment.

          SOL Hybrid 3

AMK Marketing rep Jordan Hurder takes you inside the SOL Hybrid 3, a combo kit that contains a fully-stocked survival section featuring a signal mirror, firestarter, LED light, and whistle, plus a medical kit with the hospital-quality supplies AMK is known for.

          A few added ingredients needed

I would put a little more ibuprofen in the case as well as some extra basic adhesive bandages. The ibuprofen is more important in my opinion for anti inflammatory then for pain reliever and in the event of a sprain or fracture it will be you will need more then 8. You could also switch out them for a extra strength 500mg in place of the 200mg. The extra bandages can prevent infection of minor cuts and bites
