There's a retractable flint rod and removable drop point knife for starting fires at a moment's notice, and the knife has a serrated edge, screwdriver, and wrench for added versatility. Adventure Medical included two pieces of tinder that are stored in the tool's compartment, as well as two batteries to lighten the LED light for signaling help.

- Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
I bought this tool for car camping and day hikes, because I wanted a flint fire starter in case my matches or lighter stop working. It's unlikely that I would ever need it in a truly "life or death" survival situation. Which is good, because I wouldn't trust this tool to perform its basic function, let alone help me to survive the wilderness. The tool is cheaply made, the whistle is hard to blow into, the flashlight is dim, the batteries are small and will only last for a few hours, and the knife is too small and dull to be useful. But that was ok in my mind, because i already have a knife, a whistle, and a flashlight. I basically just bought this for the flint with perks.
However, the irredeemable trait of this little tool is that you have to literally break the tinder compartment to get it open, at the risk of cutting your finger with the stupidly awkward-to-hold knife. The one thing I wanted was a flint to start a fire, and I can barely even open the compartment to store my tinder. A survival tool is not a survival tool if you accidentally stab yourself while trying to use it.
I will probably toss this into my glove compartment and purchase a more reliable tool for my hikes and camping trips. Check out my picture (attached) to see how much I had to damage this tool in order to pry the tinder box open the first time I used it.
Good for the job

As far as price range its not very expensive. All the uses are good to have and when it comes to having some similar more expensive products this one is well designed especially of cost is a concern.
