Adidas updated their beloved road runner once again for 2022 by giving the Ultraboost 22 Running Shoe a complete 360-degree female fit improvement. The iterations before this version were already incredibly comfortable, but the custom fit and re-engineered rubber outsole bring 4% more forefoot energy return than last year's model. The supportive, mostly-mesh PrimeKnit upper grants a secure fit that's intended for comfort through the miles while also reducing its environmental impact thanks to it being made up of 50% recycled plastic ocean waste.

Acceptable but could be better

Very snug fitting around the shoe tongue area

Not for wide feet or high arches
I love adidas, and was super excited to try these, but they didn’t work for me at all. The one piece sock style shoe just isn’t comfortable for a wide foot with high arches. I miss being able to actually adjust the shoe. I also found the cushioning under the forefoot lacking. On my feet these were profoundly uncomfortable. I bought them for running too, so the cushioning was important, and while these felt adequate under the heel, the forefoot was almost like landing barefoot.

Great outer support for running, painful inside!
I have these shoes in the black, as I purchased them for running. As a runner, I like the control and support they provide for me feet, but for some reason the inside of the shoes, along the ankle area are very hard and inflexible and gave my foot painful blisters and cuts. Not sure the reason but they have become too uncomfortable to run in. May have to put these away.
