    Terrex Free Hiker Boot

Your days of clunky and uncomfortable hiking shoes are over thanks to the Adidas Terrex Free Hiker Boot. This ultra-comfortable boot reaches into Adidas' bag of tricks to pull out a couple of the most trusted features from their road-and-trail running shoes, bringing reliable comfort and performance to your longer trips on the trail. It all starts with high-performance Boost midsole cushioning, which not only absorbs shock on rocky downhills and hard trails, but also delivers responsive energy return with every step to help keep your stride energized deep into the hike. On the outsole you've got ultra-grippy Continental rubber, which gives you the same reliable traction on slippery rock as it does on steep and dusty single track. Tack on a comfortable Primeknit upper and a supportive sock-like construction and you can wish a not-so-tender goodbye to those old-school leather lugs you used to stomp around in.

    • Comfortable and lightweight hiking shoe for long days on the trail
    • Boost midsole cushioning offers soft support and an energized stride
    • Continental rubber gives you dependable grip on wet and dry trails
    • Socklike Primeknit upper gives you a comfy and secure fit
    • Abrasion-resistant weldings boost your durability on rocky summits
    • Molded TPU toe cap protects your forefoot from roots and rocks

    BOOST

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 11.5
    • Height: 6'4"
    • Weight: 175lbs

Got my first pair of these with the expectation that I would wear them as a casual, comfortable shoe, and have been completely blown away with both the capability and the comfort. These have become my go-to travel shoe, because they look GREAT, and can very easily transition from casual to activity based. I took these on a 13 mile hike in Hawaii, and have been using them as my hiking shoes ever since. The Boost midsole in these is incredible. Unfortunately, shoes get dirty when you hike through mud for miles on end, so I had to get a second pair for casual wear. Truly one of my favorite shoes to put on my feet. They do run a smidge on the big side, so go 1/2 a size smaller if you are between sizes.

    Well made, worth it

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 11
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 255lbs

Out of box impressions are super nice - haven't had much time to put them to trail use, but I'm enthusiastic. Most comfortable piece of footwear I own now; the sock-like upper is firm and seamless, hard to notice when wearing. Definitely do a half size down for these - I wear 11.5 and did 11 with only a bit of room to spare in the toe box, which seems to run a bit wide but is adjustable with the laces, which are great at the metatarsals but can strangle the mid foot if cinched down too hard. Primeknit fabric is stretchy, breathable, and reasonably weather resistant, but are not waterproof. Wouldn't wear these on muddy trails or in downpours, but they hold up well in light rain. Seems best fit for dry trails, gravel/concrete/asphalt.

    LOVE THESE SHOES!

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Size Bought: 9
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 155lbs

Got these for my Yellowstone trip literally the day before hiking, thought I'd have some pain do to shoe not being broken in, but that was not the case. Did a 10 mile hike in these and had zero issues! If you've ever worn ultra boosts, then these feel exactly like those minus the prime knit on top. They still have a stretchy material, I would say thinner and stretchier than UB prime knit with a hardened toe cap.

Now the sizing. I normally wear a 10.5 in Ultra boosts, I like a little wiggle room in my toes, so I have about a finger gap left. SIZE DOWN FOR THESE SHOES. I ordered 3 different sizes cause I read mixed reviews saying these were true to size. I ultimately went down to a 9 and still have a finger gap.

    Like walking on pillows

While they’re no substitute for a sturdy hiking boot on difficult ascents, the Terrex Free Hikers are my new go-to shoe for long days on moderate terrain where comfort is key. I love their cushioned sole, fantastic breathability, and snug fit. With a durable construction and a water-repellent finish, you can expect these shoes to last.

    Hiking Sneakers

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

Nice light hiker that is supremely comfortable. I was a little worried that the knit wouldn't provide enough support but these things are a dream. I went with the pink and turquoise and the only real concern is that I'm afraid to get them dirty.
