    Tread aggressively.

Sure, it's always a good idea to minimize your impact and tread lightly when you're in the mountains, but trails are there for a reason, so feel free to do your worst to them both above and below treeline with the Adidas Men's Terrex Agravic Shoes. With an aggressive Continental rubber sole that borrows its tread from mountain bike tires and a cushioning EVA midsole, the Agravics are well-equipped to the put the handle on some of the most technical trails you can find. Tough terrain demands tough materials, so Adidas wisely gave the Agravics a super durable textile upper with welded overlays to help add support. And since even the most trail-hardened feet can use some extra help on those longer runs, Adidas gave the Agravics its Boost energy-returning foam, which is located in the midsole to help keep some spring in your step during those 20 mile leg grinders.

    Loose Trail Super Powers

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I have used these for backpacking and hiking before but had them out last night trail running on Red Butte peak above SLC and had my mind blown - I suddenly realized they weren't slipping at all going downhill on the loose, steep trails. I tried to make them slip, stopping short and throwing my weight into the tread against the ground, which stuck like glue. So then I started running downhill like the Flash at speeds certainly risky for the terrain, quick stepping and bouncing between steep sides and running down scree slopes and through banked turns, seriously feeling like I had super powers. Never slipped once. Very stable and nimble. I do share some durability concerns, the soles seems to wear a bit quicker than others and there is one stress point showing on the upper - but these are handsome as hell and sheer beauty on the trail.

    Loose Trail Super Powers

    Quick wearing soles

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10
    • Height: 6'0"
    • Weight: 195lbs

I liked the look and when I got them they fit true to size and were super comfy. I don’t run, but I do walk and hike. The soles are made from Continental tire material or so it says. All I know is my Continental bike tires have lasted a lot longer than the soles on these shoes. Returned after a month of not daily wear. Kudos to Backcountry for the full refund. Impressive service.

    Super Comfortable!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 185lbs

These shoes are absolutely amazing! I just wear them for casual use because they are so dang comfortable. They have a grippy sole and the boost technology makes you feel like you're walking on springs. You'll love these whether you're running in them or just wearing them for casual use.

    Burly runners

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: Runs large
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 160lbs

Shoes work fine and do the job, but are one of my least favorite running shoes I've owned. The shoes are a little heavier, but most of all it feels like the rubber sole and boost foam counter-act each other. I notice myself getting tired with these more than my others. I still use them for hiking and do enjoy them for that.
