- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
These boots are rad. They are super comfortable to hike in, even with a heavy pack. They offer a ton of support and cushion so my feet don't fatigued after a long day of hiking/backpacking. I recently wore them on a snowy, 4 mile backpack trip in to a yurt, carrying a 30# pack, and I felt comfortable the entire trip in! I would have felt comfortable going further, so that is a good sign for our next trip.
These are waterproof with gore tex, so they will keep you dry in snow, puddles, mud, rain, you name it! It is nice to have that assurance you'll be fine hiking all day even if you hit some wet ground and not have soggy socks. No one likes that!
The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they are pretty bulky. I personally like a lower profile shoe, and there were just a bit bulkier than I am used to, but it is full of cushion so I know it makes them comfortable this way! They do fit true to size. I sized up half size to accommodate room for my feet to expand while hiking, and some thicker socks on winter adventures and they feel great.

My second pair of Adidas hiking boots and I will never buy another brand. Very comfortable, took at most an hour to break in. Super light and fits true to size.
