Here comes the sun, it's alright.

Pop on the Sunday Afternoon Sport Hat when the sun's beatin' down and there's no cover in sight. This UPF 50 hat repels UV rays and painful sunburns. Don't be fooled by the ultralight low-profile design — it still gives you plenty of coverage with a full-crescent, four-inch brim, and a five-inch rear neck veil. Stuff the Sport Hat into your pack or pocket for travel or hiking trips, and get a custom fit with the adjustable strap.

A full brim and a full view! Sun protection is great, but it can sometimes block peripheral vision. We’ve engineered the Sport Hat to keep your perspective wide open in three ways: 1. Streamlined hat design keeps vision clear. 2. Ventilation and wicking sweatband keep you cool and your eyes on the prize. 3. Dark underbrim reduces glare. Tennis court? Garden? Canoe trip? Yes!

I love this hat. I am not a hat person but this hat is very lightweight and does not make my head sweat. I needed something to keep my face out of the sun and this protects my face ears and neck extremely well. I love the adjustable strap in the back since I have a very small head. The hole for my ponytail to stick out the back makes wearing this very comfortable

      Poor ventilation, poor fit

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: Runs large

I got this hat for backpacking and I am pretty disappointed in it. The ventilation panels are too low; they sit flat against the head, so no air flow can occur. Also the back drape is about an inch too short. As to fit, I measured my head carefully and am well within the recommended range for a medium. A small would have been much better. Overall, it's a good sun hat if you're not exerting too much, but I need more ventilation.

      Love these hats

Bought this for my mom on Mother's day. She loves the fit and how well it blocks the sun. No more burned foreheads when out gardening or hanging on the lake!

      Best sun hat ever!

I bought this hat because we go kayaking a lot, and out on the open water you can get sunburn where you never thought you could! My daughter bought one first, and convinced me to get one. We have gotten so many inquiries from people asking where we got the neat hats, and what a good idea they are. They are light and cool, and give lots of protection from the sun, especially the back of the neck and face. They pack easy and now we never go on a trip without them. Highly recommend!

Design flaw for those without a hairy forehead!

Just began wearing the hat on a daily basis, and up by what some call the widows peaks of a man's hairline i was developing a soreness. And such got worse and worse until i finally discovered why!

The air flow vents on the hat are positioned in such a manner that the sun can freely shine thru unto the bare skin of the forehead next to the hairline ;-( i pity the bald one who would buy this hat!

And another bit of a problem is that your ears are not completely shielded from the sun at any time.

Sure had thought this hat would work for me but turns out it worked against me.

i do not recommend this hat for anyone who is prone to sunburn, yet aren't they the ones who buy the hat? ;-(

II wear this hat all the tome without any problem. It guards me from the sub extremely well and is light weight enough to keep me from sweating as profusely as other sun blocking hats do not. My ears do not peak out and because o do have hair covering the widows peak area, the hat works for me!

          Traveling the World

I brought this on my backpacking trip through Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand and the Cook Islands. The thing saved my dome from burning on multiple hikes, treks (tramps in NZ), Beach days, etc. I got it in Sand cause it looked like the best guys color plus it doesn't show dirt.

Super lightlightweight with a good size adjusting and chinstrap.

In Vietnam a tourist actually offered to buy the hat off my head for $100! I declined since it was right at the start of my trip and I would need it for the rest.

Sunday Afternoons Sports Hat gone to South America...

Well, I had the hat for about a month when my son spotted it... He was heading to South America (Peru and Ecuador) and thought the hat would be useful down there. Didn't think it looked too feminine so he scooped it! Like me, he is quite fair and needed the sun protection, so like any good Mom, I gave it to him. He particularly liked the ample sizing -- the hat was a large and fit his head nicely. It has a cinch strap on the back that allows for a tight custom fit. Now I need to order another one...! Great hat.

              Awesome sun protection

I love this hat. It's super lightweight so I can wear it all day. I was captain of the last rest stop on the Mountain Lakes Challenge - a century ride here in Oregon and stood in the sun and amazingly WINDY weather all day - I cinched that sucker down on my head with the adjustment loop and didn't even have to use the chin strap. I also count on the hat for paddling because it protects my neck and the tops of my ears. The sage color looks great on everybody - especially blondes.
I do have to add that I don't recommend folding the hat brim. The brim is made from foam core and will crease permanently, so if you're taking it on your travels - pack it flat.

What is the difference between the Sun...

What is the difference between the Sun Afternoons Sports Hat and the Sunday Afternoons Adventurers Hat other than the back flap on the Adventurers Hat looking a bit longer? THANKS!
