    It Just Makes Sense.

Hitting the trails without a proper pair of shoes is like trying to eat lobster without a bib: it just ain't gonna end well. So the next time you hear the trails calling your name, make sure you slip on the Salomon Men's Sense Ride Trail Running Shoe. Assuring unencumbered agility, the Sense Ride features a low-profile, seamless upper for a barely-there fit and feel. Meanwhile, the drawcord closure system makes for easy-on, easy-off, and the cushioned midsole is endowed with just-enough foam to keep you upright and comfortable for at least a marathon's worth of distance. Though, to ensure you stay four paws up, the Sense is equipped with an 8mm to help propel your stride, and the lugged Contagrip maintains sticky traction whether you're bounding through wet, damp, or loose surfaces.

    • Enjoy a smooth ride with this trail running shoe
    • Mesh upper provides breathable ventilation
    • Drawcord closure makes for easy, on-the-fly adjustments
    • Midsole attenuates impact and enhances energy return
    • Slight rockered profile and 8mm drop propel stride
    • Grippy outsole chews up varied terrain
    • Item #SAL00XF

    Do It All Trail Runner

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 9
    • Height: 5'9"
    • Weight: 135lbs

I just ran the Moab Trail Marathon in these shoes and they rocked!

These shoes are legitimately super comfortable. Even after a marathon, my feet were surprisingly happy. I didn't get any blisters (got a couple small ones initially breaking the shoes in), my feet had well-regulated temperature the whole race, and they handled the whole route well including everything from sand, slick rock, road, singletrack, and a handful of creek crossings.

I love the quick lace system. It's my second pair of shoes with quick lace and it not only makes getting out the door that much faster, but it is ideal when you start down a steep downhill and you need to make a super quick adjustment.

The Contagrip has been doing great. I've had no problems with slipping on wet terrain.

The snug feel gives me confidence when crushing downhill and the light weight of the shoe makes them completely uninhibited on long uphills.

I highly recommend this shoe for everyone looking to get out on the trails whether you're a once a month trail runner or putting in the miles to train for marathons.

    Minimal and Versatile Trail Shoe

    • Height: 5'10"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I bought these for my boyfriend as his first pair of Solomons and he is thoroughly impressed. They are light, comfy, and sturdy. They hold up well for hikes, street and trail running. Fits true to size. Comfortable right out of the box, no break in period is necessary. Good work Solomon!

    Trail running perfection

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11
    • Height: 6'1"
    • Weight: 175lbs

These have quickly become my go to trail shoe, and I have A LOT!
The Sense Ride has a softer footbed which I find to be perfect for the hard dirt trails that I often run. Plus is gives awesome energy return! The toe box is nice and roomy giving my foot the needed space to expand. The traction works great for said trails.
Salomon's lacing system is one of my favorite features and that has not changed. I hate having to repeatedly tie laces and worry about them getting snagged while on the trail and that is never a concern with Salomon.
    Fit is true to size.

Master of most terrain, good on few...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 10.5
    • Height: 5'11"
    • Weight: 185lbs

Below is based off about 120-miles with on my Sense Rides, including two runs over 15-miles.
The Sense Ride excels on good single track, even if it's a little sandy. They are good on more technical terrain or even on pavement. Sense rides are only okay in mud. I will say being able to travel with one par of shoes is great and being comfortable with a couple miles of pavement before the trail makes the Sense Ride almost be the only trail running shoe I'll need.
The only drawback is that after only 120 miles, the upper is wearing. I'll probably get 300-miles, which is the minimum, though I aim for 400.

    Very happy with these

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Height: 6'5"
    • Weight: 205lbs

I love these shoes! I walk, run, hike, and lift in these shoes and they have been awesome for the 5 months I have owned them. They have great traction and its hard to find a shoe that is so versatile. They also didn't take any time to break in which is very nice. Right out of the box they were comfortable. Let me know if you have any questions on them.

    Work Horse

The Sense Ride is the equivalent to that every day driver or quiver killer of a ski. These can handle any conditions, from technical steeps descents and climbs to rolling single track to a little bit of road. After about 100 miles I have a pretty good feeling I will be getting another pair of these in about 500 more miles, yes I expect to get considerable mileage in these due to the durable upper and vibe technology in the midsole. Speaking of the midsole, these things are stiff and responsive, which is best suited to more mellow trails and really allow you to pick up speed and find a rhythm on the trail due to the rockered profile and energy saving vibe insert. However, I have taken the Sense Ride on super technical trails with no problem due to the sticky durable rubber. The fit out of the box was perfect for me, I like the roomy toe box and slightly narrow midfoot. Feel free to reach out to me personally for questions about any Salomon footwear. Five star trail shoe built for any conditions!

    Don't Change This Shoe

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: 11

I hope they keep this shoe as-is for a good long while. They grip, ride well, fit well, and I've used them from trail even to pavement at times, no problems. I like how responsive they are also, super minimal upper allows my foot to land naturally, but still protects from rocks and cracks.

The first day I got them, I ran 10km straight and had absolutely no blisters whatsoever.

Had multiple rough mountain/forest runs and it worked out just fine.

Also, used them for 90% of the time while hiking in Nepal and having 15kg backpack on me, up to EBC.

    Need I say more? :)

    My go-to trail running shoe

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size

I work for Salomon, and can say this is my go-to everyday trail runner. It's light, supportive, and super comfortable right out of the box. I have it in a few colors because I wear it so often. I feel confident running on dry and wet trails with the Sense Ride, and have no issues mile after mile. Checkout the video for more info!

    Mad Light

Ultralight, ultra packable. While this is its biggest strength, also biggest weakness. Would love to feel a bit more surety underfoot, but perfect for single track or smooth trail. Doesn’t excel at scrambling or rooted trails.

      Love this shoe

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 11.5
      • Height: 6'1"
      • Weight: 185lbs

Other trail runnners can be very stiff and heavy. These are not. They are light weight but provide enough stabilty so you are not rolling your ankle. The traction is great and have not had issues of slipping or sliding on the trails. Durability is not an issue. Have used them in the snow and in the desert and have help up great.

      Super versatile shoe

      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 162lbs

This is my third pair of Salomon shoes (XA Pro, Ultra 2 GTX, as well). They really hit it out of the park with this one. They designed the Sense Ride as a do-it-all shoe, and it works. On a recent trip, it was the only shoe I brought and it performed well on trail, road, hiking, and....received a few complements on the style at the pub.

      Very Nice

      • Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: 8.5
      • Height: 5'11"
      • Weight: 170lbs

These shoes have all the bells and whistles. The inner liner to hug your foot, the speed laces and a much wider toe box than I gave salomon credit for. I ended up choosing another shoe becuase we didn't have the size I needed but they seemed awesome.
