    Simple, but not too simple.

Sure the most basic way to cook anything is over an open fire, but by the time you gather wood and get a fire going, is it really all that more simple than just opening the Primus Onja Stove, lighting the burner up, and sticking a pot on it? That's what we thought. This convenient, little cook stove features a collapsible design that allows it to be easily carried to the campsite or picnic spot, while the stable, stand system elevates the stove (10-inches to be exact) just enough to cook comfortably from your camp chair. The two burners put out about 10,000 BTUs of heat, giving the stove a boil time that falls just shy of four minutes, and the sturdy covers allow the stove to securely accommodate heavier pots and pans.

    Beautifully designed stove

    • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I do a lot of backpacking and car camping and am always trying to get the best gear for each situation. I recently went on a car camping trip in Alabama with my wife and brother where I got to try out this stove as a Ranger for the Dyrt. Our goal was to put it through a range of camping cooking situations. We grilled up homemade veggie sausages and portobello mushrooms and made a pot of couscous with chickpeas and cut up veggies. We then boiled water for coffee and made quinoa oatmeal for breakfast. Through each task, the stove performed wonderfully not burning a single item but providing enough heat and control to get each dish cooked quickly. One of the coolest parts of the design of this stove is that it doesn't sit flat like most car camping stoves but has enough height that you can easily sit in a chair and have the stove on the ground. It also has an attachment for the gas canisters underneath and they stay attached when packed so you don't have to worry about bringing fuel separately. Finally, the built-in cutting board is a big plus. My only negative would be that the heat control is very sensitive so you may find yourself making minor adjustments to get to the temp you want. Overall I recommend this stove for someone who wants to be able to cook in a variety of situations and wants something that is easily portable and goes quickly from car to cooking.

    Versatile, Portable, Great Burning Stove

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

As a Ranger for The Dyrt, I get products from time to time - and decided to review this stove from Primus.
Overall, solid piece of gear. Great solution for those looking for home stove top-quality stoves to take outdoors without the price tag, weight or footprint issues of conventional camping stoves.
Pro Tip: Take this thing with you when you wake up early to get parking spots at your favorite ski hill and with your parking now secured, bust this out and make some breakfast while you wait for the lifts to open. Watch how many new friends you make thanks to warm breakfast burritos.
This stove is a lot more compact than most good 2 burner options out there, so it's not a big space waster in the car. I'm also a fan for 2-in-1 things and I like how the cutting board doubles as a way to keep the pot holder protected when you sling it over your shoulder during a day hike or even just from the car to the picnic blanket.
