    Favorite Jacket

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

This was my first Patagonia purchase and I couldn’t have been more satisfied. I wear it for light rain, a run, to work, or going out. I can throw it on for any occasion in the spring or fall. Material is very durable and although light it isn’t TOO light, like a wind breaker. Medium fits great ( 5’9 160lbs)

Absolutely perfect lightweight jacket. I wear it on bike rides around town as well as in the office if it is chilly.

Back vents are great for the uphill on your bike and the material breathes well while still blocking a decent amount of wind. If it was much colder than 45 degrees or so the wind would be quite cold while biking in this but that is to be expected.

    Fantastic

I live in Florida right on the coast so I was looking for a light-weight jacket to wear on foggy morning/nights and during the tropical storms that often surprise the area that I live in. The popular Patagonia rain jacket (Torrentshell) is obviously what I looked at first, but as I tried it on, I figured it was too plastic-y (?) for my comfort. It seemed like the kind of fabric that sticks to your skin when it gets wet...

So I did my research and came across this jacket and I'm so glad because this jacket is really a fantastic buy. In the same price-range as the Torrentshell, the fabric on the Tezzeron seems much more durable, comfortable, and breathable. I've worn this thing in some gnarly rain storms and it always comes through. If you want something light-weight, durable, and good for rain, this is a great buy!

This is a new piece for patty this year. I have not had a chance to really test it in varied conditions, but here are a couple initial thoughts...

Fabric/Feel - the piece is soft and supple. It has the feel of a traditional soft-shell & is lightweight for this type of piece. It is made of nylon though, so probably won't breathe as well as a standard softie--as evidenced by the polyester lining & vented back. However, being nylon, it is probably fairly wind proof & should be pretty water resistant too (it also has a DWR finish, so should be solid in limited wet conditions).

Fit - my local gear shop did not have this one in stock, so I tried on some Torrentshells for a hopeful reference point. In years past, a patty medium proved to be a nice, trim fit, and in some pieces is still my preferred size...I don't like a lot of dead space around my mid section for limited layering pieces, but am mindful of a comfortable fit in the chest, arms, and whether the garment lifts too much with raised arms. I found a large sized Tezzeron to fit perfectly and very similar to the Torrenshell. In fact, patty's sizing/cut for other "regular fit" pieces I tried on was consistent across the board. This piece fits & looks great--I dig the buffalo green. Can layer underneath (pullover & hooded insulated jacket fit comfortably) or wear alone (athletic fit that doesn't look boxy). Length is great too--front falls to the crotch & the back almost completely covers my bum.

Plan to wear it hiking, walking the pup, running errands, around town biking, etc. Will offer an update after I've worn it a bit more.
