Between the grueling uphill climbs and the equally as ego-busting downhills, what's not to love about trail running? Epecially when you have the Nike Women's Air Zoom Wildhorse 4 Trail Running Shoe attached to your foot. The lightweight mesh upper maintains structural support and won't obstruct the innate breathability that the structure mesh is known for. Meanwhile, the Flywire technology provides a locked-down feel for an improved, secure fit with every step.
And since the most exhilarating part of trail running is the unpredictability, Nike equipped the Wildhorse 4 with a rock plate for protection against jagged rocks and stray roots that might be dead set on taking you down. Additionally, the Phylon midsole attenuates shock for a cushioned, comfy feel, while the Zoom Air Unit in the heel absorbs impact and provides great response for a comfortable and smooth stride. And last but not least, the sticky rubber outsole is enforced with oversized lugs for aggressive traction and exceptional grip to chew up any trail you set out on.

My wife loves these
- Familiarity: I gave it as a gift but have feedback to share
After running in some salomons for a couple years, my wife's trail runners were trashed and killed her feet and calves. So we got her some of these Nikes and they have been amazing for her. The arch support is amazing and they handle the trail here in Utah amazingly. I dont think she will get anything but this shoe in the future.
I bought a pair of these last summer and only just retired them after a rugged 25k full of mud and rocks. To say they held up well with several hundred miles on them and still able to provide comfort during my race is an understatement. The rock plate in particular kept my feel feeling fresh when my friends were in the pain cave. As another reviewer mentioned, her lower calves needed strengthening in these; mine did as well. I have very flat feet so building strength in my calves is tough, but once I adjusted there was no turning back! Theyâre durable yet light and I was able to pop up on my toes when needed even on dead-tired legs; the race terrain I was on was wet, rocky, and very steep yet I never felt like I might slip or that my shoes wouldnât hold up. I highly recommend this model!
These are my go-to run & hike shoes
- Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
These shoes provide lots of support but without being heavy or clunky like some other supportive trail shoes. The shape is wide and the toe box is on the more spacious side compared to other shoe styles. The sole is very stable. You'll feel supported by these shoes on all types of terrain and they aren't too tready to wear on the road, too. You can also wear these with jeans or street wear and they are a good looking sneaker. I am a Nike Wildhorse Zoom die hard. Really glad I found these shoes because I did the rounds with other brands and this is definitely my favorite running shoe.
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
These shoes are very nice. Made well, comfy, and now one of my favorites.
LOVE LOVE LOVE this shoe, love the style, love the fit, love the price!!!
Great trail shoe
I really, really like this model. Really. I run on rocky shore trails quite often and the rock plate keeps my feet feeling fresh no matter the miles. My lower calves took a bit to adjust and build strength, but I have notoriously terrible feet so I can't knock the shoe - but bottom line is that they did adjust and I've had many happy miles in one pair. The wider footbed is much appreciated and I can't say enough about the durability - they're bombproof!
