This jacket will help with the sends.

For the times when your midlayer becomes a multi-purpose coat, the Mammut Men's Eiswand Guide ML Jacket fits the bill. With a fleecy interior and a hard face, the Eiswand protects from wind and insulates while you're on belay. Once you start climbing, the Eiswand's motion technology and underarm gusset won't restrict movement, so even the furthest throw to the next move isn't unreasonable. The high collar and chinguard prevent irritation and also stand up tall to the elements, while thumbholes and elastic hems protect the rest of your torso from wind, so you can make the send and continue to be warm in the Eiswand.

    • A warm midlayer that can also function on its own when needed
    • Hardface technology diminishes wind entering you coat
    • High collar and chinguard offer protection and coverage
    • Harness-friendly pockets keep your hands warm between pitches
    • Vertical motion and gusset technology provide range of motion

    Awesome stand alone

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 6'2"
    • Weight: 205lbs

I was apprehensive about getting this jacket because of the cost and I bought it without trying it at a store, but I'm a fan of Mammut and wanted to give it a shot. I really love it. I predominantly use it as a stand alone jacket. I'm 6'2" and 205 and the L fits perfect--not too loose, not to tight. It looks awesome as well. I get a lot of compliments about it. It's comfortable to wear anywear from the low 40's to low 60's as a standalone layer over a wool t-shirt. The only negative is that I find the sleeves a bit too long for my taste. I do appreciate the thumb holes being available, but for me (34" sleeves) the cuff hangs to my knuckles which is annoying if I don't want to use the thumb holes. However, that's true to the picture provided, just not my ideal.
