Snow Liner Over The Calf
Before you buckle into your rigid, plastic foot-prisons, slip on the breathable, supportive Icebreaker Snow Liner Over The Calf sock. Ski boots aren't comfortable, but with the Skier Liner you get support in the Achilles and instep to keep your foot's natural shape, as well as a reinforced heel and toe to deter blisters. A breathable zone on the top of the foot lets hot, sweaty air out as you rip up the mountain. With wool, nylon, and Lycra spandex construction you get a tight fit that can easily accommodate another lightweight sock to insulate your foot on cold days.

- Q & A
thin don't win
I only buy thin ski socks and these are the thinnest by far. They seem like a good sock to start in new boots but after wearing them four times, one tore pulling it on.
New Favorite Sock
One of the first things I learned working in a ski shop was that a thin sock is essential. Once I tried a thin sock out, I knew there was no going back. Contrary to intuition, a thin sock tends to constrict less and therefore allows more blood flow to the feet, allowing them to remain warm. I have tried some Icebreaker socks in the past and they were always a bit thick for my liking - especially their compression sock. So, I was a bit hesitant to try this sock.
Once I put it on, I could tell that these were the ticket. First off, they were a breeze to put on - which is rarer than I would like in a ski sock. Once they are on, you stop noticing them. They fit perfectly and do not have additional padding anywhere. Exactly what I want/like.
If you need a ski sock, these are the ones you want.
Thin to win
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
So once you get to a point in skiing, you start to realize a few things.
Thin socks are likely the last thing you would think of as adding to the positive experience on the slope, but really, once you try it, you never go back. These have a nice tight weave that doesn't move or cause blister on a fast groomer day, and moves moisture away from your feet, keeping your toes from going numb cold in most day.
