While others may disagree, we believe there's nothing more distracting or inconvenient than enduring the sensation of seriously-bunched-undies while skiing down the most beautifully sculpted chute Mother Nature ever created. Do yourself a favor and put the spunk back in your step (or ski) with the Icebreaker Women's Sprite Hot Pant. Made the way Mother Nature intended things to be, these undies are crafted with an ultralight merino wool combined with a touch of Lycra, these boy-short undies put a sassy spin on your run-of-the-mill hot pant silhouette with its low rise and full coverage. Additionally, merino wool naturally kicks unsavory odors out the door so you won't feel quite as stinky on those weeklong backpacking trips and hut-to-hut ski tours.

It really feels so natural to wear wool undies. I'm perhaps in the complete opposite camp of the prior reviewer. I bought a pair of these forever ago and they've seriously withstood the test of time, and have been a go to garment for winter and summer adventures. I was looking for something a little more modest but still really comfortable and flattering and these are it. I think the trick is get the right size, I'm 5' 8" and closer to 155 these days, 41in hip, and size L fits great. Not too tight around the waist (these are lowrise) and flattering lines on bum, if they ride up, they're just a little cheeky and it's really not a full on wedgie. Just purchased the Velvet/Opal, and Black Stripe and they're just as pictured. Would highly recommend giving these try.

I bought three pairs of these undies in preparation for a summer working on a wildfire crew. While they performed well in keeping me dry and were relatively stink free after a hard day's work, I hated the way they fit. The band is super tight and the merino material stretches out and rolls up on my butt cheeks which is uncomfortable to say the least. I have an ample bootie, strong thighs and a small waist which I don't think is a good combo for these undies. The small elastic waist band wants to ride up towards my natural waist but the fabric material is cut for the undies to be worn in a low rise style which means these undies have no where to go except up my crack. Plus, the tight band gives me a muffin top. Yuck. Now I wear them on laundry days but the mostly live in the back of my undie drawer. I hate that I spent so much on them and they get little to no use.

    Hi there Amy W.,
Thank you very much for taking the time to review your Icebreaker Women's Sprite Hot Pants. We are sorry to hear that these aren't working well for you, and even worse, didn't work out for you on your adventure. We would recommend our thong or bikini style both available here at Backcountry. These are the first pair of wool undies I've purchased and after a long day of hiking in the desert, I forgot I had them on. Needless to say I'll be picking up another pair. I can go small or medium depending on the style/brand and went small based on others reviews - they fit perfect. I wear a 28 in jeans, smaller buns and thicker thighs, largest hip area is 38.

Love the fabric, fit, and comfort! If you are into boy short silhouettes, these are your jam. Great for lounging round and/or being active - so pretty much covers the spectrum. Great buy!

    Just another pair of undies

The material of these are comfortable however the thigh band doesn't agree with my thunder thighs. Still comfy and moisture wicking though.

    Cute, comfy, great for sports

My wife is a huge fan of the Icebreaker Nature Sprite Hot Pant undies. She was worried they would look like granny panties, but they're actually quite cute (sorry, no photos ...).

She really likes these for anything active -- hiking, climbing, horseback riding, etc. They provide relatively more coverage compared to other Icebreaker undies, which prevents chaffing on long excursions.

As with all Icebreaker in my experience, the one flaw is durability. They will last 1-2 years of heavy use, but not longer.

    Hey Will!
Just want to thank you for your positive review and I'm so happy your wife loves these. That being said, I'm sorry to hear about your past expereiences with a lack of durability. We actually redesigned the fabric content last summer, so these should last you even longer than her older pairs.
Wishing her a nice long relationship with her hot pants,
    Sydney

great underwear. okay band. these undies have been worn a lot. i mean, a lot. they're starting to show signs of wear. not as durable as i had hoped, but still comfortable and better than the awful ibex boy brief. (they ruined their underwear.) for the price, they should be a little burlier...in my opinion.

    Super Undies!

These area amazing. I don't normally wear boy shorts, but these provide great coverage and are incredibly comfortable. I have worn them as everyday, as well as on bigger hiking and climbing trips. The move, breathe, and dry really well. If you are still wearing cotton, it's time to make the switch!

There are a lot of great products out there, but as far as merino wool undies go, this has been my favorite brand so far! I can't stock up on these in bulk, but I find myself adding a new pair to every order! Love them and have now tried out a few different styles too!

These are my favorite! I wear them working out, under jeans, under skirts and dresses. They don't show lines and are so comfortable. I've had a few pairs for about a year, now. No defects or wear, unlike other brands or even the siren. Just wash as delicates and air dry. Please, put them on sale, again!

    Comfortable but didn't last long

I was super happy when these first arrived. They are incredibly comfortable and great for moving around in. Unfortunately, they fell apart almost immediately. The fabric stretched out and tore through. If you do buy them, wash them carefully.

    New everyday underwear

    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'6"
    • Weight: 145lbs

I like the fit and look of these! They have become my everyday underwear and I have a few that I hand wash and wear all the time (I think these can also go in the washer, but I don't do laundry enough or have enough of these to have tried that yet). The leg holes are sometimes a bit tight when I'm sitting (the stitching around the leg is less stretchy), but I can readjust to make them comfy. They're great for walking, hiking, and so far anything I've done in them. They don't ride up ever!

    SEXY MERINO UNDIES!!

Icebreaker for the win. Cute colors and a fit thats technical but still cute enough for date night. I bought these in an XS and S. I am between sizes. I found the small to be a bit too baggy and would bunch up under clothing but the XS fits snug the waistband only digs in a bit. Overall love having cute technical undies (with minimal stank after 5 days on the river!)

    A must have

I bought these with the intention of just "trying them out", and I fell in love. I would say they are worth the money. Great for camping, snowboarding, snowshoeing, or even summer sports like climbing or hiking. Extremely comfortable but I would say don't get them too big. I wish I purchased an extra small, this is the only note I have for when I buy my next pair.

Best Fit I've had in years.

Not sure how else to say this- but this is great for full coverage! Was so glad as the leg holes didn't cut me off early as a lot of underwear does. I have a "gymnast" build and these fit great. They are super breathable and usually wear them when snowboarding or hiking. They fit perfectly true to size as I'm a size US 5-7 and ordered a M. I purchased 2 pairs of these right of the bat and will probably order more.

    Gamechanger

I've long heard about the incredible qualities of merino wool underwear and after having purchased the Ibex Balance Bralette, I was becoming something of a believer-convert myself. So, I decided to take it to the next level with the Sprite Hot Pant and whoa- am I super stoked that I did. I chose an Icebreaker underwear over another Ibex piece strictly so I could compare the performance and fit difference. I love me some Ibex, but have heard a great deal of positive things (like, 4 years worth of positive feedback) about the Sprite Hot Pant, so I figured I couldn't go wrong.

As far as performance is concerned, I like to conduct what I generically call (and I apologize if this is TMI) The Stink-Gnar-Gnar- Test. After a week's worth of aerobic activities (sans coming in contact with my washing machine, gross I know) ranging from skiing to running / climbing, the Sprite Hot Pant surpassed the TSGGT with flying colors. Not only did the Sprite Hot Pant hold its shape, but it really didn't start feeling potentially gnarly until the last activity-day. The merino wool wicked-away moisture and kept me extremely comfortable throughout my choice in activities. Granted, I have a small derriere, but there no riding up or issue with the style of underwear itself. To say the least, I wish I had listened to my girlfriend's feedback and advice sooner—this underwear is a game changer.

In regards to the fit, my previous experience with Icebreaker attire was that it ran on the small side, so I was a little apprehensive about which size to choose. After having peeped the sizing chart, I figured for my size and build (Short w/ no hips) that the XS would be best. My measurements are 31 x 26 x 32, so I would say that this size chart is relatively true to size. I think the "waist" measurement might be referencing the circumference that's closer to your hips or they measured the underwear when the elastic waistband was stretched out to the maximum, as my Hot Pants waist elastic doesn't lay "flat" or "seamless", but A. it doesn't chafe B. bother me. C. whatever. It's really quite minimal and I think had I sized up, I would've been swimming in the merino material. As for the coverage, for my tiny tuckus—the coverage is pretty standard. It's not super cheeky but not super grandma-panty. Sometimes you can see the lines underneath thin clothing, like running spandex but other than that it's really not noticeable.

That being said, I totally want to replace my entire underwear collection with the Sprite Hot Pant.

    Pretty good...

Quick drying and lightweight. I wish I would have ordered the small since the medium is slightly too big and they ride up. I mainly use these for yoga and hiking but they would be good for camping as well. I do love how well they have held up since purchasing them.
