    Perfect protection.

It’s necessary to have full coverage as you tear up the mountain, and the Icebreaker Oasis Balaclava accomplishes that with soft warmth. So no matter how nasty the weather looks that day, the midweight insulation protects you from the elements while remaining breathable, cozy, and odor-resistant, even on your most active mountain runs. The overlap opening shields you from freezing winds and snow, and it easily pulls down under your chin for milder conditions. There are also flatlock seams to eliminate chafing and a small ventilation flap over the mouth for increased breathability.

    Versatile

I use this balaclava for skiing and on my motorcycle in the summer. I shave my head which makes it all the more important to keep my head warm. The material is quite thin, however, it is also warm and doesn't take up much room in my motorcycle helmet. It's super comfortable. I like that the eye port is wide so I can wear my glasses with ease on the bike. I have a couple of other balaclavas that are decent in their own right, but this is my favourite one by far. If I could change anything, it would be to increase the length at the back of my neck as it can get untucked easily making it a bit drafty in the rear.

      It is okay

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I have many balaclavas in the closet. This is not one of the best for cycling. It is a loose fit for my medium size head. For cycling I think it should be a tight fit to work optimally. The merino wool fabric is great though, as I am a merino wool junkie. I ended up using it for running and other casual things.

      Great balaclava!

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size
      • Size Bought: One size: works well for me
      • Height: 6'1"
      • Weight: 180lbs

100% merino comfort & performance. Versatile design: can be used over / under the nose, mouth or chin. I wish the mouth opening was a bit larger, but have found it to be useful on those super cold lift service ski days. Works well under a climbing or ski helmet. Has great front coverage of neck area. Flat seams are a nice detail for added comfort.

      No Fog

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
      • Fit: True to size

This is my go to head-wear when skiing due to it having a opening that is subtle around the nose. This slit makes it great when riding and putting the part under your eyes under the goggle and not getting fog.

      Mixed feelings

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times
      • Fit: True to size

The initial impression after reading the specs is stoke and it seemed like the first couple wears were great but after a few times the smell was there and also a ton of pilling. Would try something different next time.
