    Fast in every situation.

The Castelli Sanremo 3.2 Men's Speed Suit gives you the aerodynamics of a skinsuit with the long-mile functionality of the traditional bib shorts and jersey combo. Typically, we see cyclists sporting skinsuits on short criteriums and time trials, but the Sanremo 3.2 adds functionality and pockets to extend its range into the longer distance and endurance events. First conceived in 2010, this speedsuit made everyone, including us, rethink the idea of what kind of riding you could do in a skinsuit.

The top portion of this kit is essentially a jersey designed in the style of the Aero Race 5.1 using Castelli's polyester Velocity Dry fabric. Velocity Dry is a tightly-woven material that helps introduce airflow over your body as you ride. As the name suggests, it also transports moisture and creates a slim, wind-cheating fit. Three full-size rear pockets are typically an anomaly on a skinsuit but its inclusion here provides valuable space for carrying a spare tube, snacks, or even extra gear.

Down below, the lowers are Castelli's much-lauded Free Aero Race Short, designed for aerodynamic efficiency and comfort on your longest rides. Castelli employs a blend of breathable, moisture transferring materials when constructing this lower section of the kit. The proprietary Forza fabric achieves a contoured fit across the quads and provides gentle compression to support working muscles over rough roads and aids in recovery. Dimpled Vortex fabric further facilitates more efficient aerodynamics over large swaths of the shorts along the outer legs and lower back. The leg cuffs, known as Giro Air, are a stretchable mesh-like material that allows for the same secure grip as elastic but is smoother and more evenly-distributed across your legs.

Seating duties are handled by the top-of-the-line Progetto X2 Air chamois. It features a cushiony appointment of multi-density foam optimized for comfort over a double century or 60-minute crit alike without a ton of bulk that can chafe or cause any other discomfort. The four-way stretch outer layer has an anti-odor treatment and soft, micro-denier surface so the last thing you'll have to think or worry about is seated comfort.

    • A fast skinsuit that's optimized for road use
    • Next-to-skin fit designed for your in-saddle body position
    • Plush Progetto X2 Air chamois for multi-hour comfort
    • Reflective strips improve visibility in low light
    • 3 rear pockets hold everything a traditional jersey would
    • Full-length top zip eases getting into and out of the suit and bathroom breaks

My first Castelli, as well as skinsuit

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Large
    • Height: 5'6"

This is my first Castelli as well as my first skinsuit.

    Definitely a nicer experience.

No need to worry about jerseys bunching up.

I use the pocket in the back for my cell phone while riding.

    Awesome clothing choice

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

First thing to comment on is the fitment. I'm 5' 11", low 150's for weight, 32" inseam, pretty standard build for a skinny cyclist. I wear a medium in just about every single cycling jersey/shorts ever made. If you follow the size chart that Castelli posts, you'll be a size larger most likely (hence all of the size up comments). You're sizing up from your other brands, not sizing up on the chart they post which for me, is accurate. That being said, I'm a large in this piece of clothing, the length is good, no tugging on the upper body, and the pad isn't bunching.

Quality is typical Castelli, all is good. The zipper is easy to manipulate even with one hand, the fully opening top is great for nature breaks as well.

The chamois is awesome. It doesn't move on you at all while riding, I've got many 3+ hour rides on it and it felt good at hour 3 without any issues.

I am unsure if the material has any UV protection on it, so the first few times I've worn it, I used a base underneath just to be safe, however tested it without on a hot day, and had not a hint of sun on my body, so am unsure if I was lucky or if it blocks the rays.

Material airs very well, you'll stay cool on hot days.

3 pockets on the back, usable ones too, not just fakies to look functional. I have a mini pump in the center, and stuff food and such in the others and am just fine.

    Awesome clothing.

    bad seams

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer
    • Fit: True to size
    • Size Bought: Medium
    • Height: 5'9"

I have worn this suit 5 times and the leg seams are tearing. I'm 5'9 155lbs and 5.7% so it not because I'm stuffing a gut in it. Very disappointed. Only reason I'm giving it 2 stars and one, I did acquire the KOM's I wanted in this suit.

    If you know Castelli...

    • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I’m rather brand loyal to Castelli but did own a few other brands before I jumped on the bandwagon. I’m 6’ 170lbs, built like a typical sprinter (former hockey player) and the Large fits nicely. I’m usually a large in Castelli bibs and medium jersey. I wish the top was a bit tighter but there’s absolutely no way I’m getting my legs in a Medium Speedsuit.

Apart from the fit, it’s everything you expect from Castelli. Great quality and finish. It’s extremely comfortable on the bike; more comfortable than bibs really because you don’t have straps pulling. I’ll most likely only purchase speedsuits from here on. Maybe an occasional bib and jersey. But for the same price as a set of bibs and jersey, I’ll take a few watts saved instead.

    Well constructed, high-end piece

Very well constructed and high end piece of kit. Fit is very accurate to sizing chart, and this thing looks hella pro and is all the aero. 3 actual, usable pockets are a big bonus as most speed suits only have 2. Great item for both crits and road racing, highly recommend.
