Trap the heat, hammer the pedals.

Cycling in rain may have you reaching for waterproof gloves, but Castelli's designers see some wisdom in going another direction — that's why they crafted the Diluvio C Gloves from 3mm neoprene. The neoprene insulates like your other winter gloves, but also allows just a touch of moisture to stay inside, allowing your body to warm it up and work similarly to a wet-suit, keeping your digits toasty in cool rainy conditions. Their construction makes them an ideal go-to for days when a drizzle is imminent, but the temperatures aren't frigid.

    • Insulating gloves for chilly, wet rides
    • Neoprene cuff keeps out wind and rain
    • Trap heat inside with 3mm thick neoprene
    • Grippy print on palm keeps you glued to the bars

    Love the dexterity

    • Size Bought: large/xl

I am blessed with somewhat short chubby sausage fingers. Large/XL worked best for me. Still, there is a little room at the end of each finger that gets slightly cold after about an hour of use. Love these for a cold, New England cyclocross race that's 50 minutes, but have been using on cold weather 30-45 degree road rides. Overall, great color and awesome feel on the bars!

    Warm but clammy

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I own several pairs of gloves for cycling. I use different gloves for different types of riding (road, gravel, commuting) and different seasons/temps. I find these to work well for road riding in cool to cold conditions, keeping my hands warm without sacrificing the dexterity needed to brake and shift. I ride year-round in the northeast and have used these gloves down into the low 20's F. They're not breathable and so my hands tend to get clammy inside, but that's pretty much how they're supposed to work (like a wetsuit, where a thin layer of water between you and the neoprene is what keeps you warm in cold water.) If you don't mind the clamminess, they're pretty good.
