Smooth on the uphills and downhills.

Black Diamond designed its Trail Pro Shock Trekking Poles specifically for women so you can hike comfortably up and down the mountain. Control Shock Technology absorbs impacts on the ground so your final mile feels as good as the first, and its controlled rebound prevents the pole from bouncing back too much like most poles do. Its aluminum shaft makes the pole lightweight and durable. The foam grip provides a bit of insulation to keep your hand warm during chilly hikes, and its 360° padded webbing strap makes each pole specific to your left and right hands for easy access and extra comfort. FlickLock Pro lets you adjust your poles with ease for easy transport and for the uphills and downhills.

    Worth the price!

    • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I used my poles on a trek to summit Mt. Kilimanjaro. They were durable and put through the ringer! I wouldn't have made it up or down without them. Other people had cheaper ones that broke, but not these. They were definitely worth it! I will never buy a different brand.

    Trail trekking poles

Used poles for the first time on a backroads hiking trip in glacier. Was very much surprised at how beneficial they are for support and posture along with balance. So I researched and black diamond poles reviewed very well. Tried them on the Tahoe Rim Trail today and I highly recommend them! Sturdy, light weight, added to stability on a moderate hike. Ended up sharing one with a friend who said it very much helped his knees. Granted only one use but easy to adjust, point gripped well. I’m hooked.

      Love Them

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I don’t think I could have made it backpacking up the treacherous 100 switchback Snow Creek trail and down the Yosemite Falls trail two days later without these. They’re sturdy, easy to adjust, the shock-absorption truly makes a difference, and the hand grips are comfortable. I’ve used them every single time I’ve backpacked for the last year and can’t wait to glacier hike with them in Iceland this summer. Boyfriend uses Leki poles that twist to adjust, and he has tons of problems with them slipping out of place. The snaps make adjusting for inclines/declines so much easier.

      Best Trekking Poles

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I love these trekking poles and they are always with me for every hike! They are quick to adjust and have not had any issues with them slipping. The shock absorption is excellent on hiking down hill on rocks and I can really tell a difference compared to other trekking poles. I have also used these for snowshoeing with snow baskets and they worked great! Definitely worth the extra cost!

      4 Season Trekking

      • Familiarity: I've put it through the wringer

I've been using these poles for about 8 months now and I honestly refuse to hike without them. I've put a lot of use and abuse into these guys and the aluminum shaft has held up impressively well through miles of bushwhacking. I have a friend with the exact same poles in the men's version who has used them for three seasons in the AK backcountry through a handful of sketchy river crossings. He's put them through hell and back and one of the tips is only slightly bent but the rest of the shaft is still solid on both poles. The shock absorption on these helps minimize the impact on the rest of your body (your knees will thank you later!) and keeps the poles sturdy as they hit the ground. The foam grips are really comfortable to grasp hold of as you're trekking through rough terrain. They are easy to adjust as well and collapse down and attach to the outside of my pack when not in use. The snow baskets (purchased separately) are a nice feature that you can customize when snowshoeing or just normal trekking through deep snow to give more traction. I used them while hiking up to Lake Blanche last winter and definitely plan on using them again this season! Best trekking poles I've used.

      4 Season Trekking

      Good trekking poles!

      • Familiarity: I've used it several times

I purchased these because my old pair - the twist tension kind - kept losing tension and shortening in cold weather. These are a few ounces heavier than my old pair but I didn't notice it and they held without slipping on my last 3 hikes, two of which were in sub zero temps. Would have been nice if they came with snow baskets but I believe these can be purchased separately.
