When the rest of your ride crew hangs up their bikes in the garage for the season, you don't have to throw in the towel. Kit that extends your dirt-shredding season abounds, and it's getting lighter and more comfortable every year. This year, 7mesh created a companion for its venerable Revelation jacket, calling it the Revo Short. This versatile, unshakeable baggy delivers the same lightweight versatility as the Revelation, perfect for the sloppy, messy days when no one in their right mind would venture out for a ride.
As you fly up the trail on a dim, drizzly afternoon, trying to get as many miles in before sunset, the Revo's three-layer Gore-Tex construction confidently shields you from icy raindrops, cold splatters of mud, and summit breezes. While it's doing that, the stretchy fabric will still give you the freedom of movement you need to get a little rowdier than you should. A longer inseam extends the short's coverage to just below the knee, making it a piece you can wear alone on early fall days or over thermal tights when the temperatures really drop. Reflective accents help you stand out to unsuspecting hikers or motorists at the trailhead, while a gusseted construction sits cleanly with the liner of your choice for a chafe-free fit.

When I first saw these I immediately wanted them but the cost certainly created some pause. As a fairly dedicated rider in the pacific northwest, if you want to ride year round, you need some solid wet weather/cold gear in your kit. After trying a few other cheaper "winter short" options, I finally decided to pop on these and 100% no regrets. They are really well made, the slightly longer length is PERFECT for me (just overlap with gators I run, another hot tip for the PNW mud season) and they perform amazing. Totally waterpoof and so breathable that they literally disappear from your mind in terms of hot/cold cycles of riding. Sizing chart suggested I might be a small but I went with Mediums and they are perfect. Waist bands are nice and adjust well I'm marking them true to size.
