I haven't actually ridden in these shorts yet but have worn them all day so far today while getting ready for a cycling road trip. See below for comments PROS: lightweight and just comfortable as hell wearing casually - stretch but not too much, hand packets and two zippered pockets (right zippered pocket has a small sub pocket that fits an iPhone 8 very nicely), very nice waist adjustments that allow for easy adjustment AND belt loops if you prefer those, was washing my gravel bike in these today and they are at least somewhat water resistant (probably in the description but I possibly overlooked it; CONS (minor IMO), could use some more pockets, there are no loops for attaching to bib shorts; however, given the way they fit I am not sure they are really needed with there since they have great adjustment and don't seem like they would slip much even when wearing a regular pair of bib shorts, pricey - that said I will probably buy another pair. From my POV if something comfortable and feels good while doing the activities I love to do then it is worth it. Be well, enjoy the ride!

Well designed

Very impressed with the design of these shorts. The zip cargo pockets are placed higher up than most other shorts. This allows you to carry heavy objects like a phone/tool/snack in your shorts without the obnoxious bouncing when you pedal. Additionally they have included an internal stretch sleeve to keep things more secure. The waist adjust is very secure but can be hard to adjust mid ride. Fit is a little large but good for getting pads underneath. Fabric is lightweight and seems durable enough, but can be very noisy/crunchy.

Man I love these shorts! 4 pockets, 2 traditional and 2 zippered having your items comfortable and secure while pedaling. They also double as ventilation when empty and open. The adjustable waist makes for a perfect fit. I am 6', 34" inseam, 170lbs, true size 31 waist and the small fits perfect. I usually wear medium shorts so check the size chart! The length is perfect for me but some may find them to be a tad long. They sit right at the bottom of my knee cap but don't get caught up on knee pads. Crotch is the right cut, not getting hung up on the saddle when hanging off the back. I can't imagine a better designed MTB short.

7 Mesh came into the office a few weeks ago and I knew of the brand but that was about it. I did not know it was the passion project of designers who gained their experience from time spent at Arc'teryx. After seeing their products up close and talking with their product manager about the level of dorkdom they take their design to was amazing. I am an instant convert and ordered a new kit on the spot: glide path shorts and Desperado jersey. Their fit is a true to size and a Medium fits me really well where I usually run in the M/L shorts crowd. When standing these fall 1/2 way over my knee cap and cover my full thigh when riding. These guys put more work into creating a pattern that works for riding that I have seen in a while.

Other than the sizing, these are the best MTB shorts I have worn to date. You don't even notice they are there when pedaling. Nice pockets and side zip to dump heat if needed. As far as sizing goes, the medium on the size chart says it is for a 34. I usually wear 32. The small was too small and I ended up with the medium.

High quality materials and good design make for a nice ride in these shorts. Easy access pockets and waist adjustment are nice when wearing gloves. Only ridden a handful of times in them but I have a feeling they will last for several seasons! Length is perfect when in the saddle and they don't feel like baggie DH shorts when having post ride sodas!

Excellent shorts

I haven't had these for more than a couple of months, but I wore them on a two-week bikepack this summer, so I've ridden quite a lot of hours in them. So far, they're the best shorts I've owned. The fit is excellent--basically, they're loose enough around the legs to be comfortable, but you don't get bogged down in a lot of fabric, and they don't catch easily on the saddle nose. The fabric is very lightweight but tough, and it all adds up to shorts that pedal more freely than any other baggies I've worn, but are also perfectly suited to rowdy descending. Great pockets too. That said, the fabric--while light, tough, and quick-drying--isn't especially air permeable. The super light weight fabric and wide leg openings allow the shorts to breathe ok, but for riding in hot/dry conditions, it would be cool if 7M had a version of this short with some kind of perforation or mesh panels that would allow more air to circulate around the chamois area. Of course, then the shorts would be less ideal for mixed conditions and mud (and adding zippered vents would likely ruin how lightweight and free-pedaling these are). I took some time out to pull a rad pose to round out the review.

I've been riding in these shorts for a few months now and I don't have a single complaint. They fit well, breath well, and have enough room to stash some goodies. These are baggy enough to be comfortable, but not so baggy that you feel like your riding in MC Hammers shorts. The material has just enough stretch to be comfortable. It doesn't feel too stretchy like some shorts I've owned. The shorts do a great job breathing and they shed light rain too. All I can say is I am very pleased with these shorts.

High quality baggies
- Familiarity:

I bought these without ever having seen them, and no regrets! These are light, but water resistant also. They seem like they will be very durable. The pockets are placed right, and I can ride just using the adjustors without a belt, although there are loops for a belt if you want. I use them and other baggies with bib shorts. Usually I am reaching for these for a ride now. Pretty stylish, I wear them around as regular shorts too. I am 6 feet 160 and the medium works for me.

These shorts are as well thought out as the description says. They are cut well and never get caught on your seat. The adjustable waist works great and the pockets are cut for easy access and keeping things out of the way on your bike. Sizing chart is true.

7MESH, based out of Squammish BC, hosts more than one of my favorite trails. Leave it to the guys with the best riding in the word to make the best shorts I've ever ridden. Now the town also makes the best cycling clothing too. From the trails to the bars, these shorts should be your top choice.
