Pays to Stray
- Familiarity: I've used it several times
- Fit: True to size
- Size Bought: Small
- Height: 6'0"
- Weight: 170lbs
Typically my mountain bike kit consists of a "road chamois" tucked under my baggies and I don't stray from the usual big players who know how to make a great fitting, highly absorbent chamois. I just haven't had much luck with the popular MTB companies trying to put out liner shorts but I'm not one to throw in the towel and give up. Owning a few other 7Mesh pieces and realizing the thoughtful design and premium materials, I thought I would try their liner short. I am 6', 170lbs, true 31" waist and I don't wear a "small" anything so was super nervous ordering the small as per the size chart. The fit is snug, as I would expect, to the point of compressive. They are comfortable, everything stays where it should on the body, and I was able to put in a 4 hour ride comfortably. This is the first "liner short" to ever make my regular chamois rotation and one I would buy again.
Don't trust the size chart
- Familiarity: I returned this product before using it
- Fit: Runs small
I have a 32" waist and always wear medium, but the size chart said 32" was size small so that's what I ordered. Way too small. Hey 7mesh, getting your size chart right seems (1) not too hard and (2) fairly important.
Otherwise they seem like good quality. Looks like a primo chamois. Fairly soft fabric. The leg openings have a gripper elastic thread that isn't nearly as grabby as most. Not sure they're 3x as nice as my old TLD Ace liners, but nice.
