Awesome ski jacket
This jacket kept me warm during 9 degree days on the slopes with just a base layer. I highly recommend.

Lighter jacket than I expected.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Lighter jacket than I expected. So far seems warm but haven’t been able to test it in the snow yet.

Great Everyday Outerwear
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my wife's favorite jacket, not only does she wear it on those blizzardy commutes but also is perfect on fair weather dog walks! Don't get it twisted though, this jacket is perfect for any condition on the slopes!

Great Coat, minor flaws
- Familiarity:
- I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Size Bought:

I just bought this coat and skied in 10 degrees, (0 with windchill) with a moderate snow all day. I wore a Merino Wool base layer by Smartwool and a Patagonia Nano Puff underneath. I was worried this coat wouldn’t be warm enough but I stayed very warm and dry the entire day. The GORE-TEX does a great job keeping moisture out. What I didn’t like: the logo on the arm looks really cheap. This is confusing and frustrating for a $360 coat and 686 needs to do better. The main zipper also sticks quite a bit and I would have expected better quality. Overall, I think this is a good buy and I like that it’s longer to cover some of my butt. I also like the neck coverage which is needed in colder, snowy, windy weather. The inside pockets are nice. As someone who’s taller and lanky, at 5’9”, the wrist gaiters were too short to use but that’s a normal issue for me.

Favorite Snow Jacket
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this jacket for snowboarding and as always with 686 the quality and functionality of all of the pockets/storage areas is great. I love my GLCR Goretex Willow jacket that I’ve had for a few years and decided to buy another (this jacket) in black after trying other brands and just not liking the fit and functionality as much as I like 686. This version of the willow jacket isn’t the exact same as my older GLCR willow jacket (it doesn’t have the same thin, flexible feel and fit) so it feels just slightly more marshmallow-y than the older version, but that is probably just because it’s new and hasn’t been broken in yet. This jacket has been my go-to for both freezing and warm resort days because it keeps out water and snow, is breathable on warm days, and is great for layering (I’m 5’3 120lbs and bought a medium for a slightly looser and longer fit). Stick with your size for a fitted look, or go up one for a looser/snowboarding fit and it still shouldn’t be too big.

Great for beginner snowboarder
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love this jacket. Bought it for my first snowboarding season and it's super comfortable, stays nice and dry especially for someone for falls a lot, and the pocket number is insane. I got a size medium for a baggy fit and it's perfect.
