Nice Jacket, bad offset collar
- Familiarity:
- I returned this product before using it
- Size Bought:
- large
- Height:
- 5' 10"
- Weight:
- 185
This jacket is better looking in person than in the pictures on the website. I've owned other 686 jackets in the past and this one is a nice updated 686 product. The construction of the jacket is great, features are great. The entire jacket is fairly light and flexible for a Gore-Tex product. The insulation seemed very good especially paired with a base layer and has enough room for thicker layering. I only wore the jacket inside so I cannot really review the weatherproof qualities of the jacket. ---THE CON--- The offset zipper is just bad! When fully zipped up, it's completely fine. When the jacket is partially unzipped the giant flap is literally right in front of your face and I found it just too annoying to keep. I planned on using the jacket for casual winter use and snowboarding. If just used for snowsports with fully zipped up, I think it would be fine. Bottom line, it's a very nice jacket appearance and construction-wise. However, the offset collar in my opinion is just a bad design and I just had to return it for that reason alone.
