They do the job

Gave these for my 12 year old niece. They are a little big on her but she will grow into them. They are made well, so she will definitely grow out of them before they wear out.

Removable liners

Yoga pants with your snow pants! They are super comfy liners, and they aren’t super thick so the pant is still nice and slim. Why buy a separate $100 liner when you can just get these pants and you basically get it for free. These pants are really not that expensive compared to other pants out there.

Sizing is all wrong

The Wife: I love 686 and my snowboard jacket is spot on in sizing, however the pants, not so much. I had to size up almost 2 sizes in order to get a correct fit. I do love the fact that it comes with a removable liner for those hotter days on the slopes.

Gift for my Sister

Bought these for my sister when she came out to Utah to visit. She only gets out a couple times per season but absolutely loved these pants, especially with the removable liner. Kept her very warm and is pumped she has a pant for colder days and spring riding.

As a snowboard instructor, my snowpants are basically my office. I value pants that are warm, durable, allow me to move about freely, and have lots of pockets. These won on almost all fronts - they were super comfortable, warm, and I always had enough room to stow all my stuff. I especially loved the removable fleece liner, which are great for those frigid days. Sadly the one place they lose points was durability. By the end of the season, the backside and knees were no longer waterproof, so I had a very soggy spring. Admittedly my pants take a lot more abuse than most in one year, but it was disappointing.

The fit and comfort are great. They are quite warm, but on colder days you need a warmer liner. The biggest issue is the gaiters. Depending on your boot, they may not be wide enough to be pulled down. I could not pull the gaiter over my K2 snowboard boot, so I had to have a seamstress get creative with them.

Liked but did not love

I wanted to love these pants so bad. The first size I ordered was too big so I sized down but unfortunately these pants were way too flared at the bottom for my taste. If you are okay with flared bottoms then you should buy these because otherwise they were perfect. Super soft liner, warm and very comfortable.

The Smarty Cargo pant from 686 has been my wife's favorite for years. Staying warm is challenge some days in Colorado. Our Smarty Cargo pants are go to items in the closet on those days.
