I recently purchased a series of seatposts by 3T to see which one would best fit my position on a new Masi Evoluzione: the Zero 25 Team, the Ionic 0 LTD, and the Ionic 25 Pro. Both Ionics have the Difflock saddle clamp which is very easy to install and dial-in your position. But I wanted something that gave me more options w/ a carbon seatpost; hence the Zero 25 Team. The clamp is reservable giving your the ability to have either a 0 or 25mm setback which is great. The friction fit clamp setup is not. After installing w/ the included friction paste and torquing the single saddle clamp bolt down to 9Nm, I went for a ride. Bombing down a rough road at 38MPH, the saddle went nose up. I recovered safely and was able to ride (uncomfortably) the 3 miles back to my house. Thinking I had not followed the instructions correctly, I looked for videos on properly installing the Zero 25 Team which are available on You Tube. I installed, cleaned, then re-installed exactly like the video. Same test ride route w/ the same hill, this time at 40MPH and the same result...saddle went nose up. Mind you I'm 160lbs (COVID weight); 9Nn should be holding that saddle (Selle Italia Flight) in place. Maybe if you're not riding rough roads or weigh less than 150lbs, this seat post could be for you. The carbon layup and covering is very nice and the 3T Stealth red stipe looks pretty cool, but at the end of the day I need safe and reliable over cool (at least on my seat post). I settled on the Ionic 25 Pro. It works, but it's not carbon and you can feel the difference.
