Axl/Vice Leashes

Leashes are pretty much essential on telemark skis, and if you use the 22 Designs Axl or vice bindings, it is wise to match the correct leashes to your bindings. The coiled cable leash attaches from the front of your binding to your boot, and the tail leash keeps your tail throw securely attached to your boot to prevent unwanted release.

22 Designs has redesigned this leash

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

The photo of these leashes is wrong and needs to be updated. 22 Designs has removed the Fastex buckle ankle strap and now the leash is much shorter and connects to the power strap of your boot from the binding heel throw. Does this sound less secure and awkward? I think so. Furthermore, depending upon the type of powerstrap you have, the leash may now belong to your boot rather than your ski. Strange. If you switch boots as frequently as I do, then this spells inconvenience. Maybe someone can explain why this design is an improvement? Does it save weight? - No, the trigger snap ingot is the same and the pair still weighs 3 oz.

Easy Leashes

Familiarity:
I've put it through the wringer

Over the years, I've used plenty of different tele leashes, and this design is still my favorite. They are easy to clip, even in cold weather- you don't have to pinch anything, you can just press it into your boot clip. They will also work with most any tele binding, not just the AXL or Vice! Definitely would recommend, good quality leashes.

Runaway ski!

These do just what a leash should. Keep the ski attached to the boot. Well made and will work with just about any tele binding. Matthew Pizza Expert Gearhead mpizza@backcountry.com 801.736.5363

I picked up a preowned pair of Hammerhead bindings. Will one of these leashes work with it?

Hey Tyler, These leashes will work great with the Hammerheads and I would highly recommend the metal coil leash over the tail leash. Feel free to contact me directly with any additional questions about 22 Designs bindings or telemark ski gear in general. Kyle L. - Expert Gearhead
