Dirt hungry.

The 100% Celium Shorts mark the end of your quest to find the perfect all-mountain shorts. Crafted from breathable and stretchy materials, these shorts are ready to take on the trail, with fully welded seams that take away the potential for chaffing on all-day epics. The shorts are a bit relaxed, with room for you to get around on your bike when you're out of the saddle pushing up punchy climbs, and over the back wheel when steep and menacing rock gardens unfold in front of you. To keep your fit dialed 100% employs a shock-cord waist closure that cinches down just right and locks into place for a fuss-free ride. Laser perforations at the inseam and back help boost breathability when the temperature starts to near the triple-digit zone, giving a channel for air to make its way in and keep you comfortable while you ride.

Celium shorts were a let down

Familiarity:
I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions

I wore these shorts once on a two hour ride. I have to admit that they fit great, they were nice and light material and i really wanted to keep them. However, when i went to remove them, the material around the snap enclosure came apart completely. It appears to be either two pieces welded or glued together. One ride should not have led to the two pieces of cloth coming completely apart. plus the price of these shorts doesnt even contain a liner. At the same time i bought a pair of pearl izumi 'boardwalk' style mountain bike shorts, which were about 2/3rds of the price and are far superior in quality. Perhaps some stitching on the celium shorts would help? Stitching has worked for centuries in clothing, maybe longer.

Not Impressed

These might be cool for hot weather, but the waistband is really lousy. I can only see these ever staying up when paired with the inner shorts that attach to the little loops in the baggies. Returned. Not a $120+ product.

Great For Those Hot Days

Familiarity:
I've used it several times
Fit:
True to size

I love these shorts for hot summer days. The material is really lightweight and breathable while maintaining great durability. My only complaint is that after an hour or so of riding they start to slide down a bit.

I like this short for a lot of reasons. I wanted something I could ride cross country style trails in that was lightweight and comfortable over my bib and road liners. These fit the bill. Like the rest of the 100% Celium line up, the shorts breathe well in the heat and can handle sweat. The laser cut edges, perforations, snap button, pockets, cord adjustable waste are all well constructed and show quality. The cord system is unique and works better than a velcro adjustment. I am 5ft9 153lbs and a 30 fits good, but not perfect. When standing straight up, the shorts go down to the middle of my knee cap and stay slightly above the knee when riding. They tend to loosen up and sag at the waist line when I ride with food or my phone in my pocket, but if I tighten the cords a lot this fixes the problem. Otherwise, the shorts tend to grab my seat when getting in and out of the saddle. For someone looking for a lightweight hot weather short with a slim fit, give these a try.
