Dial your edge tuning with the Toko DMT Diamond File.

The Toko DMT Diamond File is the final step in tuning your edges. It's also effective for a de-burring job after using a machine or stone grinder. The Toko DMT Diamond File is designed to fit into Toko edging fixtures as well, so you can upgrade your existing pro setup. Sharp edges are your friends out on the hardpack, so make sure your tuning is diamond quality. The course file quickly removes any edge burrs from skiing over rocks and the fine file works better with Toko tools for sharpening your edges.

    • Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer

I tuned skis for a living back in the day.

I sold so many of these to clients and taught them how to do simple things to keep their skis running like after a fresh tune up.Plus, it just adds life to your skis by not doing more to them than something so basic.

If you smack or scrape your edge you will need one of these to get through the hardened metal bur. Between this file and a wet stone you can keep your edges looking like new and not needing some idiot running a file down the entire edge. or throwing it onto a belt.

Use the 110mm DMT in base edge guide after setting 1 degree with file. Used black/220 to bring angle in then followed up with blue/325 and red/600 to polish to nice finish. This is more than enough for rec skier. Followed same routine using a Toko side edger but needed more file work to bring side close to 2 degree. I suggest that only race skiers need the green/1200 DMT. I lubricated the DMT's with water and a squirt or two of household citrus degreaser which really help to keep the DMT clean. Make sure you clean the DMT after a few cuts. Toko Side Edger was great but be soft with the file included as its aggressive bite. Nice smooth cuts with consistent pressure work great! Then polish out with lubricated DMT. Very pleased with results.

    Learn to tune

I got a set a couple of years ago and started working on my edges. I also started quizzing the guys at the ski shop on tuning techniques. Total disclosure: Nobody is going to pay money to have me touch the edges of their stick, but I certainly notice the difference when I clean up my own edges.
