The disappearing chamois.
For all their breathability, wicking, ventilation, and performance design features, the removable, chamois-equipped liner may be the strongest argument in favor of Zoic's men's Ether Shorts. The chamois itself is the top-tier Zo-Tech insert, so when you're looking for in-saddle comfort, the Ether Shorts are the obvious choice.
Equally obvious is the shorts' applicability to general outdoor activities, since — whether you're hiking, climbing, or just enjoying the out-of-doors — the liner and chamois come out and disappear into the ether. Or, you know, the sock drawer. The shorts are shot through with vents for cooling and include a full complement of pockets to properly provision your adventures.

top quality, diverse uses
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
- Fit:True to size
- Size Bought: small
Bought these for my son who uses them as both urban cycling shorts and as active hiking shorts without the chamois. Removable chamois is great and material is high quality. Would purchase again.
Love Them
- Familiarity:I've used it several times
- Fit:True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
Have been a fan of Fox shorts for years; however it seems like their quality has gone down over the last year. Did some research and came across these. The Zoic Ether are my new go to mtb shorts. Lightweight material seems very durable. Love the multiple pockets. These look good on and off the bike too. Was skeptical of the liner based on other review comments; however I think it feels comfortable and does the job intended.
My GoTo shorts - biking or not
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:True to size
- Size Bought: Large
I love these shorts, fit is right, true to size too. The pockets even face the right way so when you are riding all your stuff does not fall out. This is my second pair, and I will be buying more.
Great product
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:True to size
- Size Bought: Medium
This is a great product, even better for sunny days because it is pretty lightly, there is a lot of pockets, and the straps are great for the perfect adjustment, maybe you want to check one size up, but like i said, maybe. The price is great and i know that im going to use this shorts for a long long time.
Fantastic trail shorts!

I take these shorts on both road and mountain bike rides (mostly the latter) and can attest that the fabric is breathable while being very tough! I've taken my share of spills while mountain biking through these shorts on all kinds of terrain and have yet to see any frayed or damaged fabric from these shorts. I purchased the medium and the elastic around the waist creates a nice fit as well as the Velcro buckles around the sides. I would definitely purchase these again if I ever wore these shorts out!
I don't have a problem wearing them in warm temps (read: I've ridden in 85 - 90 degree weather before without a problem) and I tend to be highly affected by heat. That said, the padded shorts liner it comes with may be a bit warm, but if you had another liner with the shorts (or no liner for that matter) these would be great.
Tough Shorts
- Familiarity:I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
- Fit:True to size
These shorts have a very forgiving fabric willing to take on any terrain. Comfortable fit - breaths well.
Durable comfort for the trail

Searching for the right short can be a battle. This item hit the mark for me and runs true to size. The removable liner allows for easy cleaning. I was very impressed by the chamois pad in this short. It is thick enough for longer rides and resists packing out. Best of all it doesn't feel like a diaper. The exterior baggy short allows for maximum air flow and has a variety of zippered security pockets. There is also a media pocket with an earphone port for easy access. I would recommend this to anyone looking for an affordable mountain biking short.
Love these shorts
- Familiarity:I've put it through the wringer
- Fit:Runs small
- Size Bought: XL
These are my 2nd pair of these shorts and I love them. Just the right length for me. I am a large is most things, but the XL fits better in these shorts without being too big. The Large was doable but a little tight at the waist and very tight over my thighs
The liner that comes with them is adequate for shorter rides, but overall unimpressive. But I usually use a separate set of bib shorts under them, so I wasn't buying them for the chamois.
Get them on sale and plan to use the chamois as a backup
Do these short have a removable padded saddle liner?
Hey Ron, sure does! Is not a seamless option but does in fact have the padded liner for you that is completely removable.

Hi - are these light weight shorts, good to wear in warm to hot temps? Thanks!
