Zeal Optics named this particular shade Tensai, which means genius in Japanese, because this unique design is simply that. These durable yet lightweight frames are made to fit smaller faces, and their nylon metal materials are molded to be very attractive. Zeal added non-slip nose and temple pads to reduce slipping and movement while you're being active. The Tensai's polarized lenses give you glare reduction and sharp vision, even on the streets or water.

These sunglasses fit very well but I need prescription sunglasses. Is there a comparable product?

Responded on

I haven't found any, however, it is possible to get prescription lenses fitted to your frames.

Responded on

These frames are Rx-able. Just go to the Zeal website ( and it will take you through the process.

Great for thin faces and active pursuits

I have a long, thin face, and 90% of all sunglasses look ridiculous on me because they're too big. However, the Tensai fit my face profile very well.

I use them exclusively for running and cycling. They never move, shift, or bounce in any way, which was a common problem I had with just about every other pair of sunglasses I tried. They are also very lightweight so you don't feel like you're wearing sunglasses, and I don't get that "pinched" feeling around my temples after +60 minute runs.

The ZB-13 polarized lenses are crystal clear and are great for the really sunny days, but can also still function on cloudy and rainy days.

Take a look at my other reviews, it takes a lot to get 5 stars from me, but these deserve it.

Zeal Tensai PPX

Nice glasses, by far my favorite that I've used so far. They will fog if you're working really hard without a proper breeze but most glasses will. Good fit for smaller to medium faces.
I have the photo-chromatic version and I'm not totally sold on it. I can't particularly detect the tint change at all. If they do change tint they're definitely not as pronounced as the photo-chromatic technology on their goggle lenses.

Great for cycling

The fit is perfect for active sports. I prefer the styling of my Orbs, but these are really ideal for mountain biking and such. The contoured fit both keeps them in place and keeps the wind out of your eyes but without any fogging problems. Great quality too.

Not just for women!

The tensai is a smaller version of Outside Magazine's "Gear of the Year" winner Zeal Optics Maestro. Not just for women... Anyone with a smaller face will appreciate these glasses! The polarized filter works perfectly with the lens tint and helps my eyes relax! Zeal Optics A+

I have 2 pairs of Zeal goggles and this is my first pair of sunglasses. I have to say, the lens is great. They really hold up, and lifetime warranty!!!! you can't beat that. The frames are solid and light, and fit my medium face well. I was a tad bit unhappy when I could see how it was made. The blue paint was a bit off in the temple, but I'm totally anal about that stuff. Oh well, when do you see the inside of the temple? They are a great pair, and I'll get another pair of zeals for sure!

Great for active sports and smaller faces

I'm a trail runner and mountain biker and I've long been in search of polarized sport wrap sunglasses that won't shift on my nose or cause chafing on my ears. I've now logged hundreds of miles with these glasses and they still fit perfectly. If you've got a smaller face, these will be perfect for you - polarized lenses at a fraction of the "pop" brands!
