Wear the extra-wide Zeal Optics Detonator PPX Goggles and obliterate the mountain. These limited edition goggles feature the revolutionary ZB13 PPX Photo-Polar lens, which is both photochromatic and polarized. The Detonator Goggles change from dark to light (or vise versa) depending on changing light conditions AND they eliminate glare—spend more time shredding and less time switching out your lenses. Zeal Optics gave the Detonator Goggles NO-FOG Lens treatment to (surprise, surprise) eliminate fogging, and made them with triple-density foam to provide a secure fit and to wick moisture. Like all other Zeal goggles, the Detonators fit gaplessly with a helmet.

Bottom Line: Rock the Zeal Optics Detonator PPX Goggles and blow up the hill with your skills.

I got these in Carbon, and love them! Although my face is medium (style fits M-L), they are a bit on the large size, for my face. But perfect with a helmet. Because I'm a tad vain, I got the Dominator (S-M) for the w/out helmet days. Seriously, the clarity is amazing! Best goggles I have ever had.

just today i was out riding with a buddy. overcast conditions and shaddy trees made my friend wear his goggles on top of his head. I kept mine on and had no problem seeing every line. No fog works great if you can keep them dry and the case is invaluble. Toss em in the case and into your backpack, no worries unless you fall with all your weight on them.

The spherical also gives you better peripheral vision.

same frame, different shaped lense. They will fit the same either way. I have detonator ppx and love it. if you buy get the one that comes with the case. this was the downfall of my last goggles.

new goggle in five year's

By:
April 12, 2007

This is my take on the PPX Zeal Det. Great peripheral view, unlike a lot of other goggles. Ski at five diff. day's in diff. light two sunny two flat one snowing, excellent clarity. But i expected the anti-fog to be a little better. Over all this is still one of the Best goggles out there, and i look at many.

Which goggles would fit a woman better the Linx photochromatic or the Detonator Photocromatic?

Also, the Dominator and the Aspect are specifically fit for a woman's face size.

The Link is slightly smaller, and is probably better suited to women (unless you're an atypically large woman).

By far the best

By:
December 12, 2006

This is by far the best lens I have ever used. It works in every condition, from bright sun to flat light and even holds up for night skiing. It is amazing how it picks up every bit of definition.

Zeal products

Zeal's photocromatic lenses are the best. I appreciate the ability to wear the same lense in all kinds of light. No more guessing which lense to wear or having to change them out.

Enjoying This Goggle!

No fogging problems unless the lens is momentarily smitten by snow/ice - generally after a yard sale, of course.

I've had to wipe the inside of the lens several times since I've started using the Detonator, and the fog-resistant capabilities have been maintained - consistent with their claim that the chemical is blended into the lens material itself, and therefore won't wear off. (Of course, I try to be VERY careful/delicate/fragile with this expensive and valuable lens, by using only proper lens-wiping cloth/pouch material, so that no scratch is ever put on by trying to rid the lens of ice too aggressively... so far, so good.)

Fits my Giro Omen helmet well enough, although I wish that the Detonator had the spacers that the other (for smaller faces) PPX goggle uses (forget the name - the other major one by Zeal).

Also, with my slightly larger nose (bridge, that is), I wish the goggle allowed for that better, or that there was a model built that let the pressure off the nasal passage for people with bigger noses, because it does press onto the top of my nose a little, and I have to take a finger and pull up on the tip of my nose when things get cold/congested, in order to force open a passageway to snort air through.

Overall, loving this goggle, and taking good care of it.

Versatile vision

Definitely the most versatile lens in the business. Amazingly good in flat light yet still fine on those bluebird spring days. Great peripheral vision as well, almost like wearing nothing at all. Compatible with or without a helmet. My goggle of choice.
