Description

Cruise through the backwoods with the Vioz Top GT RR Boot.

Gear up and prepare for your next long-distance backpacking adventure with the Zamberlan Vioz Top GT RR Boot. A Gore-Tex lining keeps this boot waterproof and breathable, but Zamberlan knows that the inside of a boot is just as important as the outside. That's why they outfitted the Vioz with a Microtex wicking nylon collar lining for further moisture management and comfort.

  • Hydrobloc Nabuk Leather upper with rubber reinforcement system provides a durable and abrasion-resistant exterior
  • Zamberlan Z-comfort footbed provides specific cushioning to typical pressure points
  • Z.A.S. Zamberlan Air System combines cushioning and ventilation for optimized comfort
  • Vibram 3D outsole offers traction even on steep and slick surfaces

What's not to like?

  • Familiarity: I've used it once or twice and have initial impressions
  • Fit: True to size

Best insulated hiker I've owned or tried. And that list includes Lowas, Kenneteks, Scarpas, Schnees to name a few. The fit favors narrow heel and wide forefoot, which I have. They have just a little flexibility in the sole, unlike most of the ones mentioned above. I don't expect them to be water proof. I've never had a Goretex boot that was. In fact the GORTEX is their only draw back - they'd dry quicker without it. I'd recommend treating the "waxed" leather right away. they drank up a bunch of Snow Seal. I know, you're supposed to use their product but I think that's just so it doesn't change the color and who cares about that.

There are a lot of "good" boots out there. The best boot is the one that fits your foot.
