In a world where mountain bikes are taking on the form of gram-counting, grip-shifting, delicate little flowers, Yeti wondered—when did everyone get so soft? The SB66-A Enduro Plus is Yeti's answer to a mountain world gone frilly. Featuring Yeti's most advanced rear suspension, a bruiser of a frame, and a build kit made to go off or over anything, the SB66-A puts the fun back into the mountain.

Yeti's SB-66A Enduro Plus is the culmination of over two years of development at the Yeti R&D facility in Golden, Colorado. Working hand-in-hand with riders, coming in fresh off the picturesque trails at Yeti's doorstep, Yeti was able to dial in its crowning achievement—Switch Technology. If we're going to tell you the tale of the SB-66, know that this is a few chapters of the book. Switch Technology is a fully-sealed eccentric rear suspension system. What does this mean? Essentially, the eccentric link makes for Yeti's most consistent stabilizer to date. The system operates with the rear of the frame being made from a uni-body, alloy construction where the upper-pivot and eccentric mechanism are housed in a single forged part. This compact design seals off the link and pivot to ensure a long-lasting ride quality. For extra strength, and friction-free movement, the assembly uses oversized pivot pins, custom titanium hardware, and Enduro Max sealed bearings. There's a reason that Yeti wants to protect the eccentric link, and that's because it's the brains of system. As the swingarm moves through the travel, the eccentric switches direction. The link is constantly varying its movements to counteract travel and to guide the pivots. This means that you'll experience a seamless transition from the dampening of small bumps to big hits. Regardless of the terrain, Switch Technology operates independently of chain forces after around 100mm into the travel, creating Yeti's most efficient pedaling platform.

Controlling the rear suspension movement is a Fox RP23. Not just an upper-echelon shock, Switch Technology was designed for the RP23, and its durable, Kashima coated stanchions, to act as the motherboard of the system. Upfront the SB-66 Enduro Plus is taking the hits with backing from a Fox 32 150 Kashima 15 Fork that's run through a tapered 44/56mm head tube. The 150mm of travel epitomizes the all-mountain aspect of the build kit by allowing massive downhill activity without cursing the climbs. The build continues with the reliable Avid Elixir 5 brakes and levers, and a SRAM S1000 triple crankset to push you up the mountain. For shifting, the Enduro Plus package comes with the crisp SRAM X-7 shifters, X-7 direct-mount front derailleur, and an X-7 rear derailleur. The cassette is a 10-speed cluster that provides a huge range of gears to get you anywhere on the mountain. And to actually get you there, the SB-66 rolls on the bombproof DT Swiss X 1600 wheelset. The X 1600 features a center-lock rotor mount, the patented DT Swiss ratchet system, and has a convertible axle system for either a standard 135mm or a 142mm x 12mm thru-axle.

Yeti designed the SB-66 Enduro Plus to take you anywhere that you want to go. We think that it's time to breakout the map and find some new trails to conquer.

The Yeti SB66-A Enduro Plus is available in four sizes from Small to X-Large, and in the colors Black, Turquoise, Lime, and White.
