Yeti’s SuperBike (SB) series has continued to expand over the past few years, and the SB6 is the most recent and longest-legged iteration of the platform, which features the Switch Infinity suspension system. The first things you’ll notice about the SB6C are the unconventional pivots, and the tiny bit of Kashima-coated, Fox-branded bits at the bottom. Don’t let the color and Fox brand fool you, though, these little stanchions aren’t shocks. Rather, they’re much more closely related to the rail system used in Yeti’s downhill bikes, most recently the 303. They’re there to provide a linear spring rate, which, among other things, minimizes the felt impact of big bumps when you’re deep in the travel.
This unique suspension design, when paired with the SB6’s 157mm of rear travel, and 65.5-degree head angle, provides a platform for all-trail exploration and race-on-anything performance that’s rivaled by few other bikes on the market. Speaking of that head angle, Yeti tweaked the carbon layup around the head tube to provide a touch more compliance on really rough descents. It’s not something you’ll feel in terms of steering precision, but it will show itself in reduced fatigue at the handlebars.
