The 575 may well be Yeti’s longest-tenured full-suspension bike. When it debuted, its 5.75 inches of travel and pedal-ability made it one of the most sought-after bikes by everyone who rode what was just starting to become known as "trail bikes." Years on, and the 575 has been refreshed with the most up-to-date standards, but retains its all-rounder pedigree.

A simple, single-pivot suspension design is about as straightforward as you can get, but still performs very well. With fewer links to move, you have fewer things to maintain, and fewer things to break down over the life of the bike. Yeti uses dual-row bearings at the main pivot to extend service life even further.

The hydro-formed 7005 alloy frame is connected to the butted and shaped rear triangle with a FOX FLOAT CTD Adjust shock with the Kashima coating, and the front is suspended by a FOX 34. The 34’s a great match for the 575, due to its relatively light weight and unsurpassed trail performance. The Enduro kit consists of a SRAM triple crankset, an X9 rear derailleur, and 11-36 cassette. You’ll roll on DT Swiss wheels cased in Maxxis tires.

swiss army knife

I'm 5'7" 130lbs with not a lot of mountain biking experience (road, street, track) but want to be able to "grow" into a bike that will get me into more gnarly trails and ideally self supported backcountry touring. The aluminum frame makes me feel confident that I can bang it around without it breaking (I've had plenty of friends crack and destroy carbon on trails). The size appropriate frame and wheels feel natural for my size and habits from a road background. The CTD fork is AWESOME. Other than a dropper post, the whole set up is already dialed. Really. I thought I might replace the handlebars, but after a few rides, I realized that the ones that come with it are perfect. It's not the lightest and it's in a mid-zone between a more aggressive CX and a DH bike, but that makes it perfect for being an all-round BFF. Plus, it's super pretty.

I realized that I might want a hard tail/gravel grinder because that's probably where I'll put in more miles, but that's my N+1

Big thanks to customer service - it arrived ridiculously fast and the pre-build was very well done.

Yeti finishes production in Golden, CO. The frames are welded and painted in Taiwain at a factory Yeti contracts with.

Hey I noticed the description says the crankset is 22/32/44, however the pictures show a 2x10. What comes on this bike?

Hey Conrad,
Unfortunately there are some photos on the site that are not accurate, so always go on what the tech specs and description says. This bike does come with the triple. If you have anther questions shoot me an email ddalton@backcountry.com if you want a double crank I can work something out and make that happen. Cheers

Unanswered Question

The previous 575s had a small flex joint...

The previous 575s had a small flex joint in the seat stays near the rear axle. I do not see this in the new model. How is the rear triangle made to function without this flex joint?
