    Astonishingly capable.

Capable of excelling everywhere from fun-sized park features to open bowls above treeline, the Yes Basic Wide Snowboard delivers a snappy feel, reliable edge hold, and solid strength at a shockingly affordable price. This particular version is wider, accommodating bigger riders looking to conquer everything on the mountain with a freestyle perspective. Don't just take our word for it, the Basic has acclaimed the prestigious status of Transworld Good Wood for best all-mountain boards under $450.

The Basic's twin shape keeps you perfectly balanced for freestyle riding, working nicely with the CamRock profile for a responsive, poppy feel. Speaking of CamRock, this profile places camber along the majority of the board's running length for locked-in turns and plentiful snap off kickers and natural hits. Just after the binding inserts, the board transitions to rocker at the tips. This rocker eliminates the aggressive bite of camber, making it ideal for everyone from first-time beginners all the way up to advanced freestyle riders seeking a catch-free board.

A striking innovation found on the Basic is Yes' signature UnderBite edges. These edges are pulled in along the binding zones, rather than bumped out like much of the competition. This redistributes edge pressure where it's essential for turning (e.g. tip and tail contacts, center between bindings) for a board that carves well, even in less-than-ideal conditions.

    • Versatile freestyle board at an attractive price
    • CamRock is stable and responsive, yet catch-free on turns
    • Twin shape lends symmetrical balance for freestyle riding
    • Medium flex strikes a balance between response and playfulness
    • UnderBite edges redistribute pressure for greater edge hold
    • Full poplar core is smooth flexing and reliably strong
    • Biax fiberglass is softer for easy turn initiation
    • Extruded base glides quickly without regular waxing
    • Item #YES001L

I've ridden a wide range of boards from competitors with a similar camber profile and other boards with the CamRock profile and for the sub-$400 price point, the Yes. Basic is a killer option. The CamRock profile is one that I love since it's nothing crazy but a nice tweak to the traditional camber profile boards of the 90's. Keeping in mind that this will ride a little slower than other similar but more expensive options out there with a sintered base. The Basic is a super fun board to rip around on.

Basically the best board for <$400

The Yes. Basic is an awesome board offered at a great price. For $399, you get a board that can do it all. Camber between the inserts for great pop and edge hold, and rocker tip and tail for pressing, easier turn initiation, and help in powder. I can't think of a better board for the price. It also has a medium flex (3.5 out of 5) to tackle everything from a big chute, powder stash, or through the park. I've had one for 2 seasons at Snowbird (a board-killing mountain) and I can't seem to get it to throw in the towel. Great board, Yes. on fun for sure.
