Every once in a while, something comes along that's so simple and ingenious you kick yourself for not thinking of it first. The Yaktrax Pro is a simple slip-on, pressure-fit shoe crampon featuring a removable VELCRO performance strap for added dependability. Its simple intelligent design makes it ideal for everyday use. Yaktrax' exclusive SkidLock coil system grips ice with hundreds of tiny biting edges for exceptional traction and stability in all directions. Feel like you're on dry pavement. When you lift your foot, the Pro stays securely attached to your shoe. There are no dangerous sharp points to snag on your pants or to get stuck in the ice. The Yaktrax Pro pulls easily on and off your shoes or boots, thanks to a convenient heel tab.

Bottom Line: Protect yourself, your family and your friends from dangerous ice this winter.

Not durable

I've owned 4 or 5 pair of these and, while they do provide decent traction, the rubber always breaks way too soon. These are not recommended for serious trail runners who put in the miles, and definitely not for any high country running. Recommended more for the hiker or short-distance trail runner.

yaktrax

This is the 3rd pair of Yaktrax I've bought in 2 years. They work well for hiking on packed down, snowy, icy trails. Unfortunately they are cheaply made to maximize profit and fall apart quickly. Until someone comes up with something better, I will continue to buy them.

great for around town, not in the mountains

If you are looking to not slip while shoveling the driveway or walking around town these are great. If you need traction on serious ice or snow while hiking or adventuring you would be much better off with microspikes, these just don't cut it. I never use them on the trail.

So far, so good

I wore these on a long run over an icy sidewalk path and never missed a step. They work so great that you forget you are running on ice!

INCREDIBLE TRACTION

By:

Great product. The traction is incredible. Just be sure you put them on correctly so the back rubber is off the ground or the they will break easily.

I love these things!

I bought a pair of Yaktrax Pros last winter when the trail I hike on became too slippery to hike in just boots. These things literally saved my butt. My friends would slip and slide on the descent, grabbing trees and branches to stay on their feet. I can just walk like normal - they don't slide at all.
I found myself wearing them just to walk to the mailbox because the streets where I live remain snowpacked for most of the winter. It seems like the worst falls happen when it's least expected - walking the dog, etc.
I bought the Pros because I knew I would be wearing them often and I wanted the strap over the instep. For the small difference in price, it was a no brainer.
