Whether you ride a road bike or a downhill bike, the Yakima Stick Up Bike Rack holds your ride when you travel. This unique design clamps down over the top of your frame, so it works regardless of your bike's size or shape. Plus, you're not dealing with a bunch of straps and buckles when you use the Yakima Stick Up Bike Rack. You just load it and roll.
Yakima's info says there is approximately 13" between the bike tray and hitch bolt hole. What I would do is take a tape measure and measure from where the main stem on the bike is out to the farthest point of the handlebars and if it is under that you should be safe.
I really enjoy the bike rack. There is one change that I would make though....I wished it would allow you to put your tailgate down without hitting the rack when you are not using it. In both the Subaru Baja and Toyota Tacoma, I have to take off the rack to be able to put my tailgate down or the tailgate will hit the wheel gards of the rack when it is in the folded position. Other than that....it is great!

What size hitch does it fit- 1 1/4 or 2 inch? Does it curve up from the hitch to give the bikes better clearance on hills so they don't scrap? (I have a steep driveway) thanks
Glenda the stick up fits both 1 1/4 and 2 inch receivers and the attachment to the hitch is curved up to increase ground clearance. It's a great rack and easy to use but I wouldn't recomend it for carbon fiber bikes. They should only be attached by the wheels or the drop outs.
Bought this so my wife could easily load/unload her bicycle and she loves it. It is simple and easy to use. Just wish it was more easily removable with some kind of locking hitch pin but the system Yakima uses provides a great deal of stability to the rack which many hitch style racks lack. Plus I don't really have to remove it since it swings easily out of the way when accessing my rear door.
So much depends on how far the hitch box extends and how far the spare tire extends. Maybe you should look at the sparetime rack which attaches to your spare tire.
This has been good for getting our bikes around. We haven't used it off road, so I can't speak for it's function there, but on regular roads & expressways it works great. Keeps bikes in place / stable, no rattling around. One negative, if left on vehicle, the latch begins to stick.
I have a 2006 Ford Escape with factory class two 1 1/4 receiver. Does anyone know of any issues that would give me problems in installing this model on my vehicle? Thanks.
This rack should work just fine for you. Hitch mounted racks are very easy to install and very stable. Since the Escape doesn't have a spare tire on the back, space won't be a concern. You should still be able to open the glass with bike mounted.
I'm pleased with the overall design and functionality of the rack. There is one small thing I would recommend changing:
It would be nice if the mast (part that clamps on top frame of bike) locked in place for both positions (during transport of bikes) and also when it's in (the folded up) position.
As it is, there is a good deal of free travel where the mast can swing forward hitting the back of the vehicle when folded up.
Write your answer here...yea , my friend has this rack on a old honda civic and it locks down our dh bike. its definitely the price point version, not as burly, but will do the job. he has been rocking his for a while now with minimal issues.
I'm not sure, but I would venture to guess, no. I have a Trek 6 Series mountain bike and while there is room for stretching it out, I'm not quite sure it would reach 71". If I were you I would check one out in a store first if possible.
