Yakima SlickROC 4 - 2007 BCS

Nice rack. Hopefully now I won't drive my bike into the garage again. Seems very sturdy and the straps seem to do a good job holding the bikes in place. Does the job!

Just an update: I took a couple bikes on a long drive. The road bikes were fine, but the heaver mountain bikes would have the tendency to come out of the cradle. Just an FYI. Maybe I was driving too fast?

This rack is well worth the $$$. It is super sturdy (which makes it a bit heavy but not too heavy). I've heard the 1 1/4 " inch adapter make it less sturdy (I use the standard 2" receiver). The rubber tie downs really help to keep the bikes from moving around (they're tight at first but break in quickly - after 1 or 2 uses). The locking systems seem a little weak but because the arms fold down I just throw it in my trunk if I'm concerned. I like that you can fold the entire rack back to open the back gate without having to remove it. Works well, easy to use. Get the Yakima tube top adapter if you have to load girls framed bikes.

I was searching for a quality hitch rack that wouldn't break the bank, and the SlickROC was just the ticket. It's very easy to use, and it fits snugly to our GMC Envoy. You get lots of features for just a few bucks more than an entry level Yakima rack. Great deal here at Backcountry.com!

Great rack for the money! Has a lock on the hitch so I can leave it on the car without having to worry about it being stolen, as well as a lock for the bikes while on the rack. The quick-cam fold down feature is great for when the truck is parked in the garage (can close garage door). Very solid and well built. It carried 2 adult bikes and very little movement of the bikes/wheels while going 75 mph on the highway. The other added advantage is this rack has an adapter for 1.25 inch receiver. If and when I sell my truck and if the new vehicle does not have a 2 inch receiver, I can use the adapter so I can use it on the new vehicle.
