Description

Load and go.

The narrow arms on the Yakima Quick Back 3 Bike Rack fit a wide variety of bikes and easily fold down when you go bike-less and don’t have time to take the rack off. The SwitchBlade anti-sway cradle mechanisms prevent the three bikes from knocking into each other and the knob makes it easy to adjust arm angles. Tri-padded feet plus coated, padded metal buckles protect your vehicle’s paint while six labeled straps let you know when the rack is in place on your trunk. *Includes glass hatch hooks for glass trunk or gate mounts.

Hey Banderbilt,

This rack or the 2 bike Quick Back 2 version will work to hold your two mountain bikes (and both will fit your 2003 GTI nicely). Another option you could take a look at is:

Yakima also has a great car rack configuring site that will show you all possible options for your vehicle:

Hey Angelia Gregory,

Thanks for the question. I checked on the Yakima Quick Back 3 Bike Rack and I found that it does not come with a lock. The best type to use for this particular rack would be the Yakima 9 Ft SKS Cable.

We have a new 2011 Honda CR-V. The fit guide says it will work, but wondering if anyone has one and how well they like it for the CR-V.

Did it fit your CR-V? I'm thinking about buying it but I previously got anoter rack that did not fit so I'm a little skeptical... the problem seem to be the lower straps because of the CR-V plastic trunk bottom.

Anybody know if this rack will fit a 2010 VW Tiguan?

Currently, according to the Yakima fit guys, the QuickBack 2/3 won't fit the VW Tiguan because the vehicle is unable to support the weight at the point where the carrier must be placed.

The best option currently for this car (if it has factory raised side rails) are the Yakima RailGrabs. This will allow you to carry most things, with the right accessories (these would include bike carriers, ski carriers, boxes, etc.) on your car.

This rack has preformed exceptionally well. It is secure, quick to install, and keeps the bikes far away from damaging your car. It is the most versatile rack on the market- you can put it on your hatchback, sedan, or SUV. This is the best rack I have ever used. (Abnormal frames do require adapters)

The quick back has the narrowest bars of the Yakima Racks and it is very versatile for fitting smaller frames. The other option is to purchase a Yakima Tube Top and it will work with any of the Yakima trunk racks for any hard to fit frame.

Pulled the rack out after Christmas and put it right on my wifes Ford Escape. The instructions were easy, the installation was easier and it worked very well. We loaded two bikes on and traveled 600 miles round trip with no problems. The rack is very adjustable, and sturdy, the seat post arm kept bikes from "claninging" into each other. This rack was well worth the price.

Does this rack fit on a mini-van? (yeah I know it is dorky but even a wilderness dude settles down sometimes :-)

The way I look at a minivan, when compared to a car, is it has a ton more room to haul gear...and kids. So in that vein, no, it's not that dorky...

In regards to the whether or not the Quickback will fit a minivan, the answer is yes! It should fit nicely. In fact it's one of the easiest and quickest fitting strap-style bike carriers you can buy. It also comes with a security cable (has woven steel cables inside the nylon strap) to give it some security. The anti-sway holders are also a nice feature.
