Yakima made the PowderHound Rack for its namesake—you! This classic ski and snowboard mount holds up to four pairs of skis or two snowboards. A big, red, glove-friendly button opens every time, and the PowderHound has awesome binding clearance to keep your roof from getting scratched. This Yakima rack holds fat skis without a hassle, so you can rock your big planks when a storm dumps the good stuff. A new softer compound rubber protects your skis or boards and makes closing the rack easier. The PowderHound includes universal mounting hardware that fits round, square, and most factory crossbars right out of the box.
Bottom Line: Watch the weather, and load up the Yakima PowderHound Rack when a big storm rolls over your home mountain.
They do. The universal mounting hardware on the Powderhound will fit the factory rack of the Subaru Forester. If you don't have a factory rack (naked roof), you will need Q-Towers, clips, and bars along with the Powderhound accessory. The Forester's factory siderails and crossbars are pretty strong so, if you have these, all you need to buy is either the Powderhound (only carries 4 pairs of skis or 2 snowboards) or Big Powderhound (carries 6 pairs of skis or 4 snowboards). I would recommend going with the Big Powderhound as you will regret not having the ability to carry more skis at some point.
You're in luck! The new Powderhounds are currently shipping with lock cores! These are included in the package and are super easy to install.

Does this rack fit a Jeep Grand Cherokee? I already have the basic stock rack that comes with the car. It looks like in the picture this rack just clamps onto the existing one.
IMO it is very easy. It comes with a small hex key (wrench) that is used to clamp the bracket to the bar. The first time may take 15 minutes or so, but after the initial install they are very easy to take on and off. Be warned, without lock cores (also easy to install) you risk someone stealing the rack and whatever it might be holding at the time.
Just need to make sure ski/snowboard reack will fit 04 Cadillac Escolade? Also, is it easy to install or do I need to have someone install it? If I need someone to install, do you recommend someone in Colo. Spgs., CO or in Denver?? Thanks!! Cindy
